This just in: romance takes center stage as West End theater's Richard Troy steps out with none other than castmate Elaine Graham

Richard Troy used to be the hottest actor in London, but the only thing firing up lately is his temper. We all love to love a bad boy, but Richard's antics have made him Enemy Number One, breaking the hearts of fans across the city.

Have the tides turned? Has English rose Lainie Graham made him into a new man?

Sources say the mismatched pair has been spotted at multiple events, arm in arm and hip to hip. From fits of jealousy to longing looks and heated whispers, onlookers are stunned by this blooming romance.

Could the rumors be right? Could this unlikely romance be the real thing? Or are these gifted stage actors playing us all?

Brilliant

OMG...I loved everything about this book! The story line is unique and refreshing as Richard and Lainie are forced to pretend to be a couple as a PR move, but end up seeing each other in a whole new light. And as the layers of their personalities are peeled back, the sparks begin to fly! However, the best part about this book is the characters are just so genuine and believable, and not just the hero and heroin. The writing is so smart and sexy, you feel completely immersed in each scene. The author was able to capture true, laugh-out-loud humor in the most serious of situations. I found myself smiling through much of this book. And although the sex scenes were not graphic, they were certainly not lacking in steam. The author had a way of making you feel every bit of the intensity and intimacy of the love scenes to the point that graphic details were not only unnecessary, but not desired. Billie Fulford-Brown was perfect in every way. This was hands down one of the best romance books I have listened to in a while. My only complaint is that I wish there was more from this author. Brava Lucy Parker!

Highly recommended

A great book. I read it in print form when it first came out, and loved it and eagerly looked forward to listening to the audiobook. The book is quite funny, has great relationships, witty dialogue and brings London West End to life. Narrator very good too. All in all, very enjoyable.

Disappointed

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, I guess I expected too much after reading the reviews. I was disappointed. I kept waiting for it to get better. An ok middle of the road romance.

This one is Fun!

This book is smart, sassy and very funny. Lanie is our witty, adorably snarky and sweet heroine. Richard is our equally witty, snarky and not at all sweet leading man. Okay, so the man is a grouch and a curmudgeon but Lanie is up to the challenge. If you want something lighthearted and fun this is your book.

Smartly written and well narrated

Both the author and narrator were new to me - Now I’m a fan of both. Lucy Parker is such a witty writer and created wonderful characters that I would to see again in another story. Billie Fulford-Brown gave a brilliant performance and really brought the story to life.

I would definitely recommend this book and narration.

Wonderful!

Snappy, witty dialogue and writing coupled with a warm-hearted heroine and a grumpy but sexy hero. Listening to these two fall for each other was a lot of fun. Ms. Fulford-Brown’s narration made me feel like I’d been transported to London. Can’t wait to listen to the next book in the series.

So slow its painful, couldn't go past chapter 5

The story was so slow... Plus the male narrator was reading it like basically a joke of how an 17th century English man would sound. I stopped around chapter 5 and even that after skipping parts

Witty and funny book

Love this series. Very funny, well-crafted plot. Not sure about the narrator’s delivery of male characters but the writing soon made me forget about this.

Great story, the narration is not great.

Loved the story but I struggled badly with the narration. Unfortunately the narrator made the male lead sound like a stodgy old man. I had to stop listening and go read the e book instead.

Excellent Female Lead

The excellent writing of the main female character made this an absolute win for me. There was no ridiculous swooning and she was able to trade barbs with the male protagonist without coming across as hysterical or unreasonable. I love this author's writing style, her wit had me giggling throughout. I'm not at all sold on the narrator, her own voice was sickly sweet and she really overdid the stuffy pompousness of the ML.

Love the book!

I’ve read the book a few times and love it. The audiobook was okay - the narrator mispronounced some words and had some fairly bizarre accents for some of the characters, but it was still good.

Great book, terrible narration

I wanted to love the narration but I just couldn't get past her depiction of the protagonist. I almost stopped listening at times because of it. I get he's meant to be posh but you can sound cocky and pompous without sounding like an 80 year old lord of the manor. The book and story is otherwise fantastic. I just feel like I would have enjoyed it so much more if I'd read it myself.
