Story
Deputy US Marshal Miro Jones has a reputation for being calm and collected under fire. These traits serve him well with his hotshot partner, Ian Doyle, the kind of guy who can start a fight in an empty room. In the past three years of their life-and-death job, they've gone from strangers to professional coworkers to devoted teammates and best friends. Miro’s cultivated blind faith in the man who has his back… faith and something more.

In the military, catastrophe was his specialty. Five months out of the service, Brann is still finding his way, so a new assignment might be just what he needs. Unless it includes two things sure to make a seasoned, battle-trained veteran nervous: life in a small town, and playing caregiver to two little girls.

Publisher's Summary
Forty-five-year-old English professor Nathan Qells is very good at making people feel important. What he's not very good at is sticking around afterward. He's a nice guy; he just doesn't feel things the way other people do. So even after all the time he's spent taking care of Michael, the kid across the hall, he doesn't realize that Michael's mob muscle uncle and guardian, Andreo Fiore, has slowly been falling in love with him. Dreo has bigger problems than getting Nate to see him as a potential partner.
He's raising his nephew, trying to leave his unsavory job, and starting his own business, a process made infinitely more difficult when a series of hits takes out some key underworld players. Still, Dreo is determined to build a life he can be proud of - a life with Nate as a cornerstone. A life that is starting to look like exactly what Nate has been seeking. Unfortunately for Dreo - and for Nate - the last hits were just part of a major reorganization, and Dreo's obvious love for Nate has made him a target too.

Loved it
I loved this book when I read it and Sean Crisden just brought it to a new level. I love Nate and Dreo's story and I really wish they had a sequel. This is a really sweet romance between a English professor and a mob bodyguard with a heart of gold. What's not to love? Ms. Calmes does what she does best, write sweet romances with lots of emotional drama. Definitely worth a credit.

cute pleasant couple hours
not a bad story even though it was predictable and replete with stereotypes...however the repetition of a couple of phrases such as "made a sound at the back of his throat"almost forced me to quit listening....the author relies on cliches and overused collocations far too much. The narrator grows on you. Thanks. #LGBTQIA+ #HappyEnding #Multigenerational #TorturedHero #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Love, Love, Love
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
What is there not to like, Mary Calmes (the best) and Sean Crisden as the narrator!!! This is one of my favorite Mary Calmes books. I have read it several times and will listen to it again as well.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Acrobat?
The scene in the laundry room between Nate and Dreo.
Have you listened to any of Sean Crisden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The best as aways!
If you could rename Acrobat, what would you call it?
"Hot"
Any additional comments?
Buy it, you will not be disappointed!

Another winner from Mary Calmes
Would you consider the audio edition of Acrobat to be better than the print version?
Yes. A great narrator can make a book come alive, and that's just what Sean Crisden did.
What other book might you compare Acrobat to and why?
No clue.
Which character – as performed by Sean Crisden – was your favorite?
Nate, of course. But I loved Dreo and his nephew Michael, too.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed a lot at Nate's clever interaction with nearly everyone he met.
Any additional comments?
I love Mary Calmes' books and characters. And I especially like experiencing them a second time on audio with narrator Sean Crisden. My only, and rather significant, issue with Acrobat was that Nate was just too perfect. I like some flaws in my heroes, and I couldn't find a single one. Still, it was a wonderful contemporary love story with an incredible cast of supporting characters. Recommended!

I want to be liked
I have read once and listened twice to this audiobook, so safe to say, I am a fan of Acrobat and Mary Calmes.
Initially I found Nathan to be arrogant (and no one is liked *that* much), but realized he is just playing a game of "I want to be liked, so I will do whatever it takes to be liked." Once he finds someone who really loves him and can give him what he wants/needs, he becomes a *regular* person.
I liked the many characters and their personality differences. It's nice to have extras that add to the story rather than just fill space.
I also liked the mystery of the guy on the balcony.
Definitely worth a listen...

Would you consider the audio edition of Acrobat to be better than the print version?
I didn't read the print version
What was one of the most memorable moments of Acrobat?
I can't remember lol
Any additional comments?
I was disappointed in this book. To me the first half was boring and seemed way to long. The second half was better. It didn't evoke any feelings when I listened to it. I liked to be swept into what ever book I'm reading and I wasn't feeling this one.

What made the experience of listening to Acrobat the most enjoyable?
I loved reading this book over and over again, and now that I listen to it I am in heaven
What other book might you compare Acrobat to and why?
A Matter of Time
What does Sean Crisden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Life to the characters.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It takes me away from reality.

Feels Unfinished
This book seems like it's unfinished, it's like the author took so much time in the beginning of the story with little to no character development and then something big happens then BOOM! the book is over. I didn't feel any connection with the characters, and the romance between main characters seems forced it just comes from out of nowhere, the more I think about this book the more questions I have and the more irritated I get, what's the deal with all these other underdeveloped and irrelevant characters in the book! I'm not sure if there's a part 2 but this book sucks!

God, I was expecting a lot better from this book
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I read the reviews and thought that it might be cheesy, which I was okay with, but it turned out to be boring in addition to cheesy, which was disappointing to say the least. I would have picked a different book if I had realized that.
Would you recommend Acrobat to your friends? Why or why not?
No. It's not the best.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Hmm...Sean did a great job with Dreo, but I was sort of annoyed by Nate's voice, which is the majority of the audiobook.
Do you think Acrobat needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Definitely no.
Any additional comments?
In a positive note, I really liked Dreo and wish that the story had been from his perspective rather than Nate, who is literally so perfect and likeable that he is boring as hell. I found myself so annoyed with his ex-wife to the point that I wanted to skip past all the passages with her in it, and there were waaaay too many side characters and I couldn't keep track of who was who. Every time another one showed up I had to stop and ask, "Wait, who is that again?" I wouldn't recommend this book, there are a lot better cheesy romances out there than this one.
One more thing: why was it called "Acrobat"? I still cannot figure out what this title has to do with the book. Hmmm.....Nope, still don't get it.

Audio book narrated superbly by Sean Crisden as always. LOVED the Italian phrases and voice he used for Dreo.
Almost stopped listening after becoming bored/frustrated by the dialogue in the first two chapters, but I'm glad I persevered. Loved Nate and Dreo's story and chemistry. Super hot scenes between them.
