Publisher's Summary

Heaven ain't missin' this angel....

At a fateful New Year's Eve party, Georgina Maverick, a little bit drunk, a lot mired in guilt from her tortured past, trips and falls off a rooftop, tumbling 10 stories to her almost death.

Her friend and coworker, Dexter Bridger, the man she discovers also happens to be her guardian angel, is on the case. He saves her, but he opens an entire can of worms when he nicks her shoulder and turns George into an angel, too.

With the help of the OOPS ladies and some divine intervention from Dex, George is learning how to be a guardian angel in the hope she can earn her permanent wings. But worse? All the secrets that haunt both George and Dex are coming home to roost.

Yet for George, the questions cut far deeper. Why is it so hard to overcome her brutal past and find the thing she's always wanted - peace of mind and acceptance? And how the heck is she supposed to be someone's guardian angel and guide them to emotional safety when her own life is such a wreck?

Who's been lurking in the shadows trying to steal George's wings? Because if someone gets their hands on her wings, guess what? She loses her soul. Forever....

Contains mature themes.

I mostly enjoy this series but…

The girls have accents all of a sudden where I don’t remember it before and that is hard to get accustomed to when you already feel like you know the characters. Also, I missed Nina using cute words instead of straight out cursing.

Accents not right

Another good story with two issues: why do they have southern accents now? Why has the tone of Nina's profanity changed? It's harder to follow and know who is who when they take on weird accents. I thought there was a new narrator but it's the same one. Nina has always had a potty mouth but it's harsher now instead of naughty like before. I'm not liking that either.

What’s with the accents

I love love love this series and normally love the narrator, but what gives with the sudden New York accent on Nina and occasionally on Wanda? Threw me off. The story was great and thank you for writing about an animal sanctuary.

New accents??

Loved the book as always, but what’s up with the comically stereo typical accents. I’ve never noticed them before, and it was kind of hard to follow who was talking.

Another winner!

Absolutely loved this book, but all in this series have been amazing.
One tiny critique; why does it seem the narrator is giving Nina an exaggerated NY accent. It seems way more pronounced in this reading.

another great story

another great story in the series but the narration was very distracting with the oops ladies suddenly having weird accents. Nina sounds like she is trying to be an extra on the jersey shore. Marty sounds like she can't decide if she is from the jersey shore or if she is a southern bell. and Wanda just sounds odd. other than that the story was great and I look forward to the next one. hopefully without the new weird accents
