Story
Humans are the most adorable creatures in the galaxy. Everyone says so. Is it such a surprise that a mighty Alliance Imperial Warship would take humans prisoners? Yes, the Alliance doesn’t take prisoners. Once onboard the Alliance ship, the crew of the Dakota are casually informed that human women are now considered to be Alliance citizens. Moreover, all the female crew will be returning to the Alliance homeworld. This was completely unexpected. What is even more unexpected, Captain Kara Rainer’s infatuation with the alien Admiral who captured her and coerced her into marrying him.

I was for sale, but he didn't buy me. He just took me. Exiled from Earth by a tyrannical government, I was meant to be sold for use on a distant world. But Vane doesn't buy things. When he wants something, he takes it, and I was no different. This alien brute didn't just strip me, punish me, and claim me with his whole crew watching. He broke me, making me beg for mercy and then for far more shameful things. Perhaps he would've been gentle if I hadn't defied him in front of his men, but I doubt it. He's not the gentle type.

I’ve been swept off my feet before, and I’ve got the bruises to show just how badly that ended. I’m not about to fall at the feet of the next man - or alien - to cross my path. Especially not when he steals me away from home and wants to use me as his broodmare. Kloran is intense and sometimes scary. A prince of his people with a duty so deeply ingrained it’s hard to see where it ends and he begins. But the glimpses of the man beneath the hardened warrior prince make me wonder if there’s something more between us.

Captured in space. Imprisoned. Sold to the highest bidder. But my biggest problem is the bossy, aggravating, impossible, alien who’s supposed to rescue me. The bossy alien I kissed. That might have been a mistake. Kadir is dangerous. I’ve seen him fight and his body is littered with scars. He’s a soldier. A warrior. And when he loses control, he turns into a big scary dragon and breathes fire. Everyone’s terrified of him. I’m not. No, call me the biggest fool in the galaxy, because I’m attracted to the big jerk.

Publisher's Summary
Abducted or saved?
Kol is an Alliance trader and part-time pirate, but when Admiral Tir asks him to retrieve a woman from Earth, despite his reservations about abductions, he could hardly deny the future Emperor of the Alliance. Now Kol may be new to kidnapping, but he’s not new to the filth of the galaxy, and this young woman has been living in one of the filthier places he had ever seen. Morally, he feels he has done her a favor in saving her from galactic poverty. He keeps reassuring her that he is taking her to a better place. Kol doesn't even begin to understand her frustration at being taken.
Jesse was walking home when a grey alien abducted her in broad daylight. Now he has locked her in a room on his starship and says that he is taking her to her sister in the Alliance Empire. Jesse hates her sister, Dru, for running away from the Exterior and now hates her sister even more for this abduction. All Jesse wants to do is return home and live her life on Earth. It has only taken her a few days to realize that tears won't work on her captor, so she is going to try her feminine wiles. She’s heard humans are considered to be the most beautiful out of all the galactic species. If that doesn't work, she will try something else. One thing she is sure of, she is not going quietly to her sister or the Alliance.
Although you can jump in at any point in the Renascence Alliance Series, it’s recommended you listen to Married to the Alien Doctor (Renascence Alliance Series, Book 2) or Married to the Alien Admiral of the Fleet (Renascence Alliance, Book 4) before listening to Abducted by the Alien Pirate (Renascence Alliance Series, Book 5).

Confusing at first
The book confusing if you haven’t read any of the series before and start in the middle. The relationship between Jess and Cole is good but I wish he hadn’t kidnapped her. I don’t read books like this normally but I gave this one a chance and liked it.

I wished this was a full length Book!
I wished this was a full length Book! (and that it was called 'MARRIED to the Alien Pirate!, haha) I liked Jesse and Kol, and I'm not done with their story. I really hope to get some insights in how it ends in future books. I loved we got to know more about Dru's background, and we get a glimpse into her Alliance home situation. The Book is Sweet and Romantic, with a very Hot Sex Scene. This isn’t my favorite Book in the Renascence Alliance Series (because of length and narration), but definitely worth a read if you enjoy the series. I didn’t like the narration. There was nothing wrong with Bridget’s voice. It’s just that it seemed to me that she used the same intonation/ tone/ way of speaking for the Main Character all the time, whatever the situation or context. Especially the romantic talk felt out of place and non genuine to me. Gives me the feeling the narrator isn’t emotionally connected to what she is reading, she’s just reading a text. This is such a shame, because I think this is an awesome series and deserves equally awesome narration. I mostly recommend Book 3 and 6 in this series. I wouldn’t recommend you start the series with this Book, I don't think it optimally represents the feel and quality of the whole series. I got this Audio Book for free (thanks!). I'm voluntarily leaving this review. Opinions and ratings are my own and not influenced by how I got the Audio Book.

Spoiler alert 🚨
It was short and interesting..... dru sends to find sister to bring her to the alliance. Her sis is necromancer and it doesn’t go into details specifically of why dru needed her but the main story takes place is I. The journey of getting her and finally dropping her off. I was hoping an forbidden hot love scenes but there weren’t. Yet the story was enjoyable. I hope you will enjoy it. Narrator did a good job as well.

Sci-fi romance!
This is the second book I listen to by this author and although much shorter still a great listen. This story is well written and narrated. The narrator does a great job with the characters and voices of each character. I do prefer when and author sticks with the same narrator throughout a series. I have listen to the books out of order but they are very good as stand alone but better in order.

Alien tech gets in the way of dirty pirate love
Let me start out by saying that I was hugely disappointed that Jessie and Cole could not hook up for some love because he had some alien technology thing that kept him from her. This is all Drusilla just making life hell for her sister. First having her abducted and then not being able to hook up with the hottie alien pirate who abducted her. That being said, I liked the world-building and the characters. There is a good scene in the book where Cole revisits a threesome he had with an ex. girlfriend and her bestie, it wasn’t multicultural as they were all Alliance gray aliens, but it was still good. As you do in the future, I guess. I don’t even want to think about the ex. boyfriend nights I would revisit it I had that kind of technology?! As usual we get a different insight into the Alliance world and middling class this time, so there are no stations, new things to learn about the galaxy. I wish this would have been a full-length book! I hope there is more to come of Jessie and Cole! And please bring Jane back! 😉 I’m all in on this Alliance world now, (listening to the audiobooks completely out of order), but still very invested. Bring Jane back.

Abducted by the Alien Pirate
I enjoyed this book, but it seemed a bit distant from the rest of the series, not as steamy or romantic, I kept expecting Kol and Jesse to have a hot, forbidden romance, but was left disappointed. I also didn't want to skip this book in case I missed anything from the Alliance conspiracy or Gods meddling, but Jesse's introduction with her special talents do give the series an exciting twist. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
