Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Agent Doc Hunter had a golf game scheduled. Doc was a good golfer. Very good. Thinking about going pro. But now all of that had been put on hold because three people on a farm got themselves shot and Hunter's boss had decided he needed to be the one to investigate.

Doc wasn't happy about the assignment, and was even less happy when he finds there is a cover-up and a suspect list that only seems to keep growing. On top of that, he has a killer who has a lot more killing to do.

As the body count increases, the media, the sheriff, and Doc's boss all increase the pressure on Doc to stop an angry killer with a growing appetite for more blood.

Readers of John Sanford, Michael Connelly, Jeffrey Deaver, Lee Child and like authors will enjoy this fast-paced mystery.

The story.

I liked the story but didn’t like the automated voice. it doesn’t know how to pronounce English.

Do not like AI voice

Story was ok. Did not like the AI reading voice. Would much rather listen to a person

The story was suspenseful, but spoiled by the AI reading.

The story kept me listening, the writing was good. The reading in AI does take away from it, though.. there is no inflection in AI which is a subtractor to total enjoyment of listening to a good book.

Great storytelling and character development.

The use of virtual voice is frustrating. Words are mispronounced often It distracts from the flow of the story. I’ve listened to every book CE Nelson has written and I love CE Nelson, I do not like the virtual voice. With this many references to the ME and it’s pronounced me is sad. That’s one of 100’s of examples I can give you.

Love the local story line.

Did not care for the AI narration which was apparent in the pronunciation of
like words. Lead and lead for example.

Virtual voice

The story line was good, but the Virtual Voice narration was very monotonous and sort of annoying. Took aeay s lot of the enjoyment of listening to the book.

The performance, AI voice was very disappointing

Virtual voice is terrible. Mispronounce words, wrong inflection no voice differentiation for different characters, not enjoyable at all to listen to.

AI narration

I've found I really dislike AI narration/virtual voice. it sounds mechanical. Words are pronounced differently at different points in the book. Read with a monotone.
