I do like that the characters lives do follow from book to book.

I am an agreeance with everyone else I do not like the narrating by a computer. I have listened to many ebooks and I would have to swear that this book series was totally made up by AI. just the way things are said and written in the book that would not be in a normal crime fiction book. what is up with the detectives not having any self-defense guns that doesn't make a lot of sense. every detective has a weapon given to him by his department. specially after listening to two books going into three you really can tell the wording is just completely off. I think that if it is an AI book they need to come out and admitted it but that probably will not happen. I am still listening to all of the books I just get past some of the narration where the words aren't correct.

European immigration

Did not appreciate the social engineering agenda or the pitch for open borders-I read books for entertainment, not political controversy. Also, did not care for the virtual voice-it was flat and blatantly artificial. Otherwise, though, the story line was interesting.

Great story, bad AI read9ng

I really liked the story. Character development was great, and the storyline intriguing. But the AI narrator was just not up to scratch. I'd have to keep rewinding and re-listen to parts to figure out who was saying what, and the dullness of the voice did nothing to convey the emotion of speech or the ambiance of the situations. In the end, I stopped listening, and would rather buy this book in hard copy to read it for myself.

Bad AI reading

I really wanted to like this but couldn't get into it with the AI reading it. There were no voice inflections and it was difficult to know which character was speaking.

The ‘narrator’ AI is horrible

The quality of the story is totally overshadowed by the terrible quality of the narration. I’m surprised using AI they can’t train it to pronounce words properly and they’re so bad it’s almost comical. It also has really terrible inflection with no personality at all and it’s certainly not surprising that it’s a dictated.

Oh did the AI fail here. I’m not actually sure what some of the characters are called the names are so mangled. Also epic fail on any of the police slang. I mean so co.. is what exactly? Also the characters that speak with any sort of regional accent are down right offensive

Horrible AI generated voice!

This could’ve been a great listen but for the AI audio. Like listening to Mapquest in your car for hours and hours. Bor-rrr-ing!!! But. It did put me right to sleep.

Computer generated narration jarringly disrupts the narrative.
- Misplaced pauses and emphasis
- Inability to deal with hyphens (“minus”) or single letters (“businessahlevels”)
- Wrong pronunciation for the context or non-English language words (chili con carn, Al Capony), resulting in the wrong tense (read), meaning, usage, etc.
