Publisher's Summary

Levi Montbard loves history and isn’t afraid to search it out no matter where it takes her. A scroll she acquires to sell in Montbard’s Antiquities in New Orleans leads Levi on an adventure that will take her from London to Morocco, by way of the Sahara Desert. A story of a female Templar Knight should sound like a hoax, but to Levi the new information rings true. Proving the scroll accurate becomes an obsession. She’ll stop at nothing to uncover the truth.

Yasmine Hassani spends her days teaching female studies in Marrakech to women who want to leave a mark on their country. An arrogant Westerner storming into her office is highly unexpected and leaves Yasmine laughing off the absurdity of her claims. No one knows more about the history of the Templar Knights than Yasmine, and reluctantly intrigued, she agrees to help Levi.

But their search turns down one dead end after another, almost as if someone is working hard to keep old secrets buried. They’ll have to fight the Catholic Church, centuries of tradition, and their growing attraction for each other to uncover the mystery of the female Templar Knight.

I couldn’t get into this one

Narrator was strange. I just could get into this story. The concept seemed interesting and reviews sounded promising.

Wonderful, Well Written and Exciting

I know this book is lengthy, but the twists and turns will keep you interested, not to mention the romance. The love story is one I can relate to with a conservative society and having to make choices to sacrifice for happiness. But, this is on the backdrop of another couple making similar sacrifices centuries before. Stick with it. Given the way it ended, I can see a sequel... perhaps with Pia?

Ali Vali never disappoints!

I put off listening to this when it was first released because it didn't sound like a story I'd enjoy. History isn't usually a topic I enjoy whether it's true story or fiction but I'm so glad I decided to give it a chance! It was an intriguing fun and suspenseful love story! Paige McKinney is one of my favorite narrators and the combination of her and Ali Vali is perfect! Hoping that there's more to come from this bunch!

One of Ali Vali's best stories yet

You can't go wrong with Ali Vali's books but I haven't loved all her audibles. This one was great though. Adventure and romance are a good combo for me. I liked all characters and enjoyed it all the way through.

The Next Casey series

I love the tomb raider vibe and the possibilities for another series, like Casey’s. The grand parents and Zara. All wonderful characters. So many options. You can do it Ali.

A Perfect Read

This has to be one of my favorite stories! it has the perfect blend of mystery, drama (involving the knights templar, the Catholic Church, and a little family drama, too), treasure-hunting and through it all a slow, sweet, lesbian romance.

Amazing book!

Ali Vali wrote this incredible book. I enjoyed the characters and I think Yasmine Hassani and her sister & Levi Montbard and her family would be exciting to know. Adventure, mystery and romance: this book has it all. I read some people calling it having a Tomb Raider / The Da Vinci Code vibe and I completely agree. Paige McKinney is an excellent narrator and love the way she brings a story to life. I definitely recommend this book!

Loved it!

I didn’t want the adventure to end with this one! I love Ali Vali books and this is no exception. I just really loved the story! The adventure and mystery, the story within the story, excellent! I could picture everything as if I were watching a movie.
Typically, I don’t care for Paige McKinney as a narrator, but she was so good here! The woman can do some swoon worthy accents! I adored this book!
