Bob Odenkirk’s career is inexplicable. And yet he will try like hell to explicate it for you. Charting a “Homeric” decades-long “odyssey” from his origins in the seedy comedy clubs of Chicago to a dramatic career full of award nominations - with a side trip into the action-man world that is baffling to all who know him - it’s almost like there are many Bob Odenkirks! Since his first performance at the legendary New York nightclub “Catch a Rising Star” as a 21-year-old college student in fall of 1975, Jerry Seinfeld has written his own material and saved everything. “Whenever I came up with a funny bit, whether it happened on a stage, in a conversation, or working it out on my preferred canvas, the big yellow legal pad, I kept it in one of those old school accordion folders,” Seinfeld writes. “So I have everything I thought was worth saving from 45 years of hacking away at this for all I was worth.”

Back when restaurant menus were still printed on paper, and wearing a mask—or not—was a decision made mostly on Halloween, David Sedaris spent his time doing normal things. As Happy-Go-Lucky opens, he is learning to shoot guns with his sister, visiting muddy flea markets in Serbia, buying gummy worms to feed to ants, and telling his nonagenarian father wheelchair jokes. But then the pandemic hits, and like so many others, he’s stuck in lockdown, unable to tour and read for audiences, the part of his work he loves most.

Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

I read the book about a week ago... and I wasn’t sure if listening to the audiobook would be worth it... oh was I wrong. Let me tell you, you in for a treat!!! 6 hours well spent, laughed the entire time, “Selina” and “Gary” do a spectacular job!!! I can’t get enough of my Veep.
P.S. I was considering to leave the one star review so Selina can have someone write a book about her childhood...but just couldn’t help myself.

Thank You, President Meyer!
The book is an incredible account of the life of President Selina Meyer from our very own President Selina Meyer! From learning more about her family history to her times leaving the House for the Senate, it is a great story of our first female president. She even leaves the door open to another run — by not saying she won’t run for office again.

Why I returned, A Woman First
Reeling from Veep and not wanting it to end I used a precious credit for this book and I was happy until Gary started reading as Selina. That totally turned me off and I could not get back the good humor though I did like it when Gary interrupted Selina with his little blurps oops gurgles and so forth. Anyway this is why points were lost...….with all due love and respect. B.

This book was an absolute must-listen for "Veep" fans! My only complaint is that the 6 hours passed much too quickly! The book perfectly captured Selina's voice and read in her "actual" voice (the brilliant Julia Louis-Dreyfus), it was a joy of a listen. Tony Hale did not disappoint either-poor Gary!

Don’t Do It!!!
Veep is hilarious, and the reading is great, but the story of this book is an incoherent, steaming pile of doggy doo. That makes sense for the show, but as an audiobook, it’s not funny enough to listen to for more than a few minutes. It’s not really a comedic bio so much as one long run-on sentence that hardly relates to the show and doesn’t develop any of the Veep characters in any recognizable way.

Even Julia LD can't save this awkward fan fiction
As a big Veep fan I practically leapt out of my seat when I came across this - but sadly after six hours I'm mostly disappointed with it. While Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tony Hale give some really good performances across the book and there're some occasional great lines, anyone hoping for a post-presidential rundown expanding on the people and events of Veep will come away wanting. Almost the entirety of the book is profoundly over the top new content sketching out Selina's childhood and pre-political life. There's almost no commentary on any of the major issues of the show or her team, it's real broad-strokes comedy about how dysfunctional the aristocratic 1% are and what a simultaneously monsterous and pathetic woman she was in college. Towards the end of the book, there're a few jokes about how it skips over most of what her audience is really interested in, which, hit too close to home. Far from the worst six hours you'll ever spend, but I was disappointed in the direction they took this one.

For twenty years, James Carville and Mary Matalin have held the mantle of the nation's most politically opposed, ideologically mismatched, and intensely opinionated couple. In this follow-up to their groundbreaking All's Fair: Love, War, and Running for President, Carville and Matalin take a look at how they - and America - have changed in the last two decades. If nothing else, this new collaboration proves that after twenty years of marriage they can still manage to agree on a few things.
