“Returning to Henry Adams, Kansas, is akin to attending a family reunion. The characters are rich, and the kids all have a story to be told.” —Romantic Times

“This series is a winner.” —Minneapolis Examiner

Bestselling author Beverly Jenkins takes readers back to Henry Adams—a small town originally founded by freed slaves—for a delightful fourth visit with A Wish and a Prayer. Time spent in this close-knit community of lovable eccentrics is always quality time, and this trip promises to be especially memorable, with a pig on trial and new love blossoming. Loaded with heart and wit, Jenkins’s A Wish and a Prayer is like coming home—a welcome return that readers of Kimberla Lawson Roby and Angela Benson and African American romance fans will certainly want to experience.

Some people use any excuse to try and cover up their own short comings as the Stillwell's did by blaming Bernadine because their land was going into foreclosure! Leo Brown walked away unscathed yet again after ramping up some of the farmers' hopes with his and his handlers' greedy intent. Leo strutted around but truth be told he was just a modern day lackey uncle tom for a group of racist greedy grubbing men whose only claim to fame ever is to kill, steal, and destroy! Just like how they did with this land they took by force, killed off most of the Indigenous Peoples and turned around and called them savages. Like the way they raped and plundered Africa of her most precious resources her human resources turned them into slaves, raped the women and committed all manner of heinous acts against and like what they did to the Indigenous Peoples, called us savages! I have fallen in love with your historical novels and they provide me with information not readily available in history books. Excellent read Mrs. Jenkins, just excellent.

These blessing novels are pure joy. Although I have tragedy, the author incorporates mis fortunes to show there’s no perfect place. I do enjoy Mrs. Jenkins writing.

Another treasure

captivating, twist, turns and unexpected moments of joy; storytelling at its best and yet to still develop as we have more to learn about these characters, this town and how they'll all grow with one another as time goes on

Another fascinating chapter of the towns story♡
