Publisher's Summary

Gabby and Mischelle are best friends. Mischelle is despondent, unable to get over the hurt and betrayal of finding out her husband cheated on her with a younger woman - and even worse, he walked out on her and their children. Meanwhile, Gabby's relationship has imploded, and her ex refuses to believe it's over and has started to stalk her. These ladies need a break.

To get away from all the chaos, the women head to Tybee Island, Georgia, looking for a weekend of fun in the sun. Once they get there, they encounter two charismatic yet mysterious men who have the power to inexplicably change their lives forever...or at least for the weekend.

Good reading

I loved this story because it dealt with people who were struggling, wealthy, and financially stable. Showed black men who were honest about their situations and women who were vulnerable yet keeping their emotions in check. Next to Zane’s The other side of the pillow and Tracy Thompson Price’s A woman’s worth this was one of my favorite books. I hope the story will continue

Boring

Boring. It's a lot useless conversations and unnecessary descriptions. It is full of fillers. It was uneventful and ended abruptly. I skipped the sex scenes.

Loved this book.

Enjoyed listening to this book, I couldn't wait to see what the outcome was going to be. Even though it was suppose to only be a weekend Affair, Michelle and Panther still had an attachment to one another due to the hurt they both were enduring at home. Can only wonder if Michele will have to decide between her professor and Panther at the end of the day. Wishing there was information about a book two if so.

Disparate for a man

Mischelle is really foolish. She is worried about being a single mother, without realizing she IS a single mother. Her crazy mother is out of touch with reality, and I wonder where’s her husband? Mischelle sounds crazy fantasying about Carl while trying to keep a husband that is not in their home, and don’t want to be. A man that is not taking care of his children but can support his side piece. Really on food stamps and selling her wedding rings to pay GA power , leaving her stranded at school. That’s a marriage ? Start out how you can hold out. Maleke was cheating before he married her. He showed her who he was and she didn’t believe him. I hate story lines with weak black woman who take any treatment as they feel they deserve better. This book was pretty good except the main character was a door mat. Also the book did not have a conclusion. Most authors write stories their audience can relate to. This seems to say black women will take any treatment to have a man, they are dependent on food stamps . May have degrees but are not productive in turning it into viable way to support them and their children. Maybe I’m being negative but this book dose not give a complete story ending for Gabby or Mischelle !

I loved the storyline.... ummm narrator your mute button or pause button would’ve been greatly appreciated when you “lost your place”, but I’m hoping for a sequel

Good storyline

I loved the concept of the story. Loved the connection between the characters, but the book ended without closing out the story.
