Publisher's Summary

A Taste for a Mate - Book 2 in the Redwood Pack Series

Jasper Jamenson's only responsibility to being the Beta of the Redwood Pack, second son of the Alpha, is to protect the Pack from themselves and the human world. After a century of selfless service, his brother's new-found mating forced him into taking a good look into his life. He isn't sure he wants a mate, but fate may have other ideas.

Willow Delton is a skinny bakery owner - the type most woman love to hate. Being without family, she finds herself alone to the Greek god with green eyes who saunters into her bakery every morning. Her desire to follow him, to be with him, overrides every rational sense she possessed.

Jasper and Willow are drawn together, despite every nuisance that works against them. But evil beyond even Jasper's supernatural compensation will make war against him, by going after the only thing in his eternal life he desires - Willow. Is Willow's heart enough to overcome Jasper's soul to save her life? A fight he cannot win, but to save her life - he must.

A full length novel.

You can find the print version of this novel in Redwood Pack Vol. 1.

Iffy

If you like descriptive violence then you'll probably enjoy this book. I would caution anyone wanting to listen to this one. It has very graphic scenes of physical and mental abuse. Not for me.

Not quite there

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was time well-spent. The time went by fast and I looked forward to listening to this book.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

This one didn't quite come together as well as I wanted it to. Although I enjoyed it more than book 1, I still felt that Willow believed all the werewolf stuff a little too easily, and neither she nor Jasper became someone I could connect fully with as characters.

What about Gregory Salinas’s performance did you like?

Gregory Salinas is a great narrator. Even with a deep voice, he manages the female POVs well. I enjoy listening to him.

Do you think A Taste for a Mate needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I am intrigued with the direction this series is going. The impending war and the danger it has obviously brought to this pack's doorstep is interesting, and I want to know what happens.

A taste for PNR

Okay, Carrie Ann Ryan has done the impossible, she has made me fall in love with a werewolf, actually the whole Jameson family. The Redwood Pack is amazing and I am in deep with them.

Gregory Salinas has the perfect growl going. Oh My!

The writing is so bad.

If this was written by a student in high school I would say good job, your talented and will someday be a great writer. But, for a professional writer I’m sorry to say isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. No depth in the story or characters.

Slow start= great story

I am a huge fan of paranormal stories, and have loved most of Carrie Ann Ryan’s books. This book however, almost lost me as a reader (just for this book). It started off slow, and an the prologue created some confusion. Once you get oriented with where the story begins and see how the prologue fits into the rest of the story it draws you in. I became so involved in the story that I finished the last 22 chapters in one day. Overall good story and very interesting characters.

Expected better from Carrie Ann Ryan

I forced myself to listen to this audio book after the 1st half hour the lead female willow held no substance, she whined constantly and was so pittyful of herself she just rolled over, the male lead was boring I have the 2nd book o on my kindle I'll give it a look it can't be any worse.

Struggled to listen to😔

Whilst I am sure the story is fine, and I may well try and read it at a later date, I really struggled to listen to this narration. Gregory is a very articulate and smooth reader, however I found it to be very slow and nearly gave up, until I discovered I could increase the speed. I continued for another 2 chapters but finally threw in towel and could not finish. Characters sounded like robots and had no personality. Sorry
