Publisher's Summary

From best-selling author Michele Campbell comes A Stranger on the Beach, an edge-of-your-seat story of passion and intrigue that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Caroline Stark’s beach house was supposed to be her crowning achievement: a lavish, expensive space to showcase what she thought was her perfect family. But after a very public fight with her husband, she realizes things may not be as perfect as they seem: Her husband is lying to her, the money is disappearing, and there’s a stranger on the beach outside her house.

As Caroline’s marriage and her carefully constructed lifestyle begin to collapse around her, she turns to Aidan, the stranger, for comfort...and revenge. After a brief and desperate fling that means nothing to Caroline and everything to him, Aiden’s infatuation with Caroline, her family, and her house becomes more and more destructive. But who is manipulating whom in this deadly game of obsession and control? Who will take the blame when someone ends up dead...and what is Caroline hiding?

Over the top drama. Yes, please!

This reads as a very over-the-top drama. I actually didn’t mind. I found it very entertaining. For everything about this book that played out like a lifetime movie, the educated material that went along with that made up for it. Board up the shutters and let the storm begin.

Unbelievable and annoying.

This is the first time I’ve felt compelled to write a review. I listen to lots of audio books and I couldn’t get through this one. Thankfully Audible has a generous return policy. This may work for fans of over the top, unbelievable Lifetime movies but I was not a fan. The two main characters were so inherently unlikable that I couldn’t be bothered to care about what happens to either of them. I found myself annoyed and irritated the whole time that I attempted to listen.

What an awesome ride! I am so sorry that it’s over😥

The most exciting book I have listened to in years! (And I listen to a LOT of Suspense/Thriller type novels!) January LaVoy is the best narrator out there as far as I am concerned!❤️

So hard to put down!

I could not put this book down!!

One of these 2 people is an unreliable narrator the only thing you have to figure out is which one it is?

This book grabbed me from the start and didn't let go, wow what a ride!

January LaVoy's narration was as always amazing she brings the emotion out like no one else can!

I don't even want to say anything more because you need to enjoy this ride as you try to figure whose story to believe, Caroline or Aiden.

Good Stuff!

Characters you love to hate! It was a little confusing at times but tied it up well in the end!

Terrible

This started out having the potential of being a great story. What unfolded was far from it. This story was all over the place, confusing, and I still don't think I know what was supposed to be the actual reality of the narrative. . The characters were unlikable and annoying. The ending was completely predictable. Reader was good. Complete waste of a credit!

Entertaining, Easy Read

I felt the author tipped her hand just a little too early, and I figured out both big twists pretty effortlessly, but the story was well written enough that I wasn't quite sure I was right until the end. Not the most memorable read, but kept my interest, which is all I can ask of most thrillers these days. Because I read SO MUCH, it takes a superb story to blow me away...but this was definitely worth the read. ***Sorta spoiler alert***
I felt that the alternating viewpoints between the protagonist and antagonist was very well done with the exception of one thing (and here's the sorta spoiler) the fact that the details of their viewpoints were TOO different in certain places early on was what gave away the first twist. It would have served the element of surprise better if his account more closely reflected hers with just enough variation to wonder if one of them was delusional rather than knowing almost immediately that one of them was lying...because once I knew that, it was pretty easy to guess which one and why.

Drags on and on

This story made me want to puke. So slow moving. Get to the point. Caroline is stupid.

Stupid characters

The characters were so unrealistic and stupid that it made my blood boil. I had to pause the book several times because it made me so angry. It was very confusing in regards to the point of view of caroline and Adin. The only thing good about the book was the narrator. I struggled to finish the book.
