A soothing voice to scary stories.

Despite the book’s eerie content, the narrator’s voice makes the stories feel cozy. I loved the historical take on ghost stories as the author compares and contrasts the different experiences locals have in the same homes and businesses over time. It is definitely worth a listen, especially if you like local lore.

A Very Strange Place Indeed

This was a collection of strange and unusual occurrences in Revelstroke Canada. Cryptically, ghosts, gremlins, strange lights, UFOs and more have been seen in the area. This book is a collections of short stories relating some of the events. The chapters and stories are fairly short. The author narrates his work. These happenings would be of note, but the fact that so many occur in this particular area, makes it a rare hot spot for the paranormal. Highly entertaining and somewhat spooky.

Ghost stories, Sasquatch, and aliens oh my!

This book has all of the odd happenings that one could hope for. I enjoyed listening to the author read his book, and found the Canadian setting fascinating. I love that the author included some history with each section, allowing listeners like me to visualize his hometown.

It took me a bit of time to get into this book , but once I did it was so worth the listen. The author did an outstanding job of capturing his hometown in Canada. Filled with varying degrees of paranormal going on and also a bit of history.

Entertaining and Honest

This book does not claim to have absolute truths about the paranormal. It tells the stories and let's the reader decide. I find the performance to be absolutely above the average with the voice being soothing and a pleasure to listen to. If I find myself unable to sleep at night, I can turn on this book and either listen to in the dark or slowly be lulled into a nice, pleasant sleep.

A place where worlds collide

I quite enjoyed this book. Was not as interested in the UFO stories as the ghost and haunting tales. It’s creepy but not scary. Also happy to hear of some tales of ghosts that are not malevolent. Lots of great stories. Seems to be well researched, which is was not expected. If you haven’t been to the area some of the geographic descriptions may be lost on you.

Excellent voice. Chilling stories.

Having listened to 'The Ghost Story Guys' podcast from the start, the subliminal message 'buy A strange Little Place' finally got the better of me and I made plans to get this as soon as Brendan announced he'd finished recording (one thing we have the quarantine to thank for!). Anyway, if you like ghost stories that are both skillfully written and wonderfully read, then add this to your library. I guarantee you'll be happy. It has a lot of 'relisten-to-ability' also which is great. After listening to this, sit back with a nice cup 'o tea and hop on board the 'Ghost Story Guys' podcast. It's a breath of fresh air to listen to something so well produced that isn't packed full of ads. You have the option to support via Patreon too which is always a good thing. Brendan comes across as utterly genuine and down to earth. I can't think of a better teller for these kinds of tales. He has the wit and sophistication, humour, guile and dashing appearance of a modern day Oscar Wilde. Ian's pretty good too ;) A review by Ashley Edge at DLAB!

Brilliant!

Having been to the town in question way back in 2005 and know the demographic position, it gives me a sense of knowledge and feeling of the stories it's like I'm there. This is a brilliant book and a must for fans of the paranormal, also the fact that the narrator is the author gives it a sense of connection and authenticity with the stories. 👍👍

New paranormal stories

If you want a paranormal story that's new to you, try this book. the stories are true stories all from a small town in Canada. Many of them will be unheard of, even by the afficionados of the field. The author narrates and has a very good voice for it, soothing but serious. 10/10. would listen again
