Pretty good but there were problems

Congrats Luke you made Arilla my most hated character within moments. Her Ideals are damn stupid she acts and thinks like a child and instead of having anyone tell her to grow tf up you have them apologize as if they are wrong and enable her stupidity just to force unneeded teenage drama.

And what's up with these stats and levels you clearly stated MULTIPLE times that stats enhance a spieces ability. A orge will be stronger than a human even if they had the same level and stats. So why is typh a DRAGON losing fights of physical strength against everyone especially when shes above their level. I know she's in a human girl form but the skill clearly states it transfer part of her dragon form stats to her human stats. You have her do random acts of strength like picking Arilla up like a child while she's in full plate but if a fight against someone way below her level she's get fking trashed physical.

Also Arilla again. Why. I feel like you just ruined my her character. Like if everything she did came down and changed her into something like better. Something great I could be behind but no. She broke the bond when she switched classes just because "she wanted her own power". She constantly leads typh on just to pull away because she doesn't want to accept who typh is. She's supposed to be a orphan so you think she'd have a better outlook on the world other than seeing the world in black and white.
But only after everything goes to shit, she gets betrayed for the 100th time and the world is ending does she realize /Oh I was wrong. And we get a half assed apology for it. Then immediately after that she tries to argue about what's good and bad as if her morals lead her to anything but bad luck. God I don't know how you can ruin a decent character so fast. I almost dropped the book during her class select scene.

I won't like I skipped 90% of the bard chapters they were absolutely pointless to me. It's just a story of a woman escaping her abuser and I can understand that good for her but it gets revealed she purposely put herself in that situation because she thought she could manipulate the situation and she's a drug addict. So.... Yeah...

But typh is amazing and I hope she best for her. She's the perfect underdog, treated like shit from birth but still does her best with what she has. She's proud of being a dragon even though her kind hates her and she tries to human for the people around her. She's the only reason I read this book.


So my summary is. If you want more of the first book just go for typh POV chapters.
If you unneedy teenage drama Arilla POVs.
And want a story of a troubled woman trying to better herself the bard(don't even know her name honestly) POVs.
