Typhoeus is a dragon. To the humans hunting him, he is nothing more than a monster, a mindless beast to be killed for levels and glory.
To him, adventurers are not that much better. Exiled from his home due to a trait on his status, and so very tired of killing adventurers on a near daily basis, Typhoeus decides to seek refuge hidden amongst the cowed remnants of humanity that populate this world.
Armed with a millennium of mystical knowledge and a powerful new skill that lets him take on the guise of a completely average human woman, the dragon must decide if he can be more than just the words on his status. Flung headfirst into a life of romance and adventure, this is his story.
The Dragon's Dilemma series is the queer romantic fantasy LitRPG mashup featuring a shapeshifting dragon, an uncaring system, sapphic love, and an ancient threat.

Not going to lie, I was truly hesitant on trying this series. I'm all for queer and transgendered love, but STRONGLY prefer reading books where the main character is heterosexual and usually male (just being honest). Still this book was so entertaining I instantly bought book 2.
The characters are really the selling point of this series. The MC trying (and failing) to act like a woman is exacerbated with the fact that he doesn't know how to act like a human, which causes a lot of humorous moments and problems. At the same time there is the love-interest's journey in growing out of her weakness and ignorance. The villains, while not unique or complex, display levels of cruelty that are designed for you to hate.
While the drama between the characters lays at the forefront of the book, the undertones regarding the upcoming cataclysmic event is going to be decides if this series stay great. The history of the world, magic, and haunting future are well written so far.
Only negative that I can say so far about the series, is the unfairness that is targeted at one of the characters that, arguably, did all the wrong things for all the right reasons. Hopefully it's rectified in book 2.
Overall, this series is a hidden gem. Worth gambling on and experiencing something truly different and entertaining.
Truly Surprised How Enjoyable This Was.

Lol i like the narrator, but her British way of pronouncing some words had me confused a few times. Like calling a Lich a Lick. Not a horrible sin but i could see a few people getting overly angry about something like.
Overall it didn't wow me, but i didn't hate it either. Meh? if you got the credit to spare and nothing better go forit.
A good first try...

Great story

After that explicit sex scenes repeat often enough that I grew tired of skimming through the scenes and lost interest in the novel.
Interesting premise but went down hill fast

I cannot express in words how truly insufferable the main side character Arilla is. She owes the main character pretty much everything she has but spends the whole story playing victim. A real “Woe is me” type. It only gets worse and worse as the story goes on.
In the beginning you believe it isn’t that bad. She seems amicable albeit annoying. But her incessant whining does not stop, only increases. And you are forced as the listener to experience an actual dragon get metaphorically whipped by some backwater gutter rat. There is nothing appealing about her. Its as if her only character traits are wanting be stronger, and bitching about the only person that ever helped her achieve that. The relationship between the two characters is so one sided. Arilla says she isnt getting enough, Typh agrees and bends over backwards for her, Arilla then says it isnt enough and gets upset, and Typh bends even further. Rinse and repeat.
Even worse the climax almost had me foaming at the mouth. That this stubborn ungrateful woman causes the main character so much distress. I had such high hopes of it getting better throughout the book i even went and *read* the first act of the next book. Begging, pleading that the author doesn’t make an actual dragon some whipped husband who is in the doghouse for another book. I was disappointed.
If you want to read a book about a dragon getting gaslit into believing he’s torturing someone hes bathed in affection and getting turned into the equivalent of a submissive housewife, I recommend it. If not I implore you to look as far away from this book as possible.
I Hate Her.

Started strong then you introduced Arilla. She reminded me of listening to umbridge in HP but she’s depicted as a good guy.
