A homeless man seeking renewal and redemption... Almost a million dollars in stolen drug money and two vicious gangsters who will do anything to get it back.

Homeless and struggling with alcoholism, Henry Hillman fights to preserve whatever dignity still remains with him, and in the process becomes the unlikeliest of heroes when an incident of random violence unites him with a beautiful young woman. Sara Waters - the daughter of a wealthy and powerful South Florida attorney - owes her life to Henry and is determined to help turn his life around. When it appears that Henry is finally on the road to recovery and redemption, all is not well. A job that he is given is not as it appears and leaves him little choice if he wants to live.

Cool story involving drug money, hitmen, and the life of a colorful American expatriate in the Caribbean islands. The main character is a compelling figure. I gave the story four stars rather than five because the supporting characters tend to be cliches and caricatures, and because a twist at the end was predictable and illogical. Still, it all comes together nicely, especially with the narration of Duffy Weber, who handled a wide variety of voices with amazing skill. (Note: the multi-talented Duffy narrates my own books, and he is always fabulous!)

Excellent summer read!
