A Slay Ride by DP Hewitt is a Libby Cord Mystery set in Coopers Crossing in upstate NY at Christmastime. Libby has been coerced into organizing a German Christmas Market. The town is small and full of likable and quirky characters so getting things set up for the Market is very funny. I found myself laughing out loud several times. But, there is a serious situation in Coopers Crossing too. A despicable realtor who lies about properties and cheats clients is found dead the police are on the case, with Libby’s help. I enjoyed the book but the ending made me sad, which shows me how engaged I was in the story! The narration by Dini Steyn was wonderful. She provided voices for the characters and brought the story to life!
