More Gothic than cozy mystery

Moving into the third book, I obviously wanted to see how the author would wrap up the narrative arc.

While the in series has intriguing moments, the author does use some descriptive language—when it comes to illness, bodily functions, and crime scene details .

This 3rd installment bordered on macabre to me. If you enjoy darker tales, this may be for you.
