A Pleasant Story

This story started out with a very sad situation happening to Rhae Peters. As time passes, she has to overcome many obstacles in her life and learns to trust people again. With the help of a total stranger in the beginning, one Cade Miles, she slowly gets things back together as he does also. It seems he was just as "broken" as she. In the end, all's well that ends well. I was given this free audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Great listen!!

This book starts off really sad. It draws you right in. I felt Rhae’s pain and really agreed with all her inner monologues. It is predictable at times. Regardless of that I listened straight through. I really liked the characters. They were relatable. I will definitely listen again. I just wish there was more even an epilogue for a glimpse of Cades and Rhae”s life. Did they have a baby. Did they stay in New Orleans.

The narrator was good. She was clearly understood.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Lots to like

This listen started off seriously strong. Rhae had just lost her husband in a tragic car accident and the opening sequence leading up to the funeral was raw and resonated real. You felt what Rhea was going through!! There was some levity in the text as well that leaned towards the closeness Rhea had with her family and friends.

It's unfortunate that the rest of the book plateaued from there. There were no real highs or lows from that point. Rhea discovers some things about herself and her now-deceased husband. She finds new love. End scene.

I did enjoy the narration though.
