Really fun time travel

This was an easy, enjoyable listen. Loved the characers. The narrator did a great job with individualizing each voice - He was fantastic!

Sub-par story with many recycled elements

I'm writing this review without spoilers, and it was a disappointment compared to Pearson's past work. We know he loves the 80s, so some 80s pop culture and political references are expected. what feels lazy, however, are the same elements of what happens when someone goes back in time, that is betting on sports to get spending money complaining about technology that is no longer available, complaining about the economy and "Thatcher's Britain". Sean, the protagonist is not an especially sympathetic character. I found it hard to care whether he was successful or not in his other story arcs. his continuing reference to his time travel as "Coma Land", just wasn't very believable. production was also weak, with frequent, very obvious voice-over corrections usually at different volume or tone. The narrator doesn't do the story any favors though as you just don't feel the intensity in scenes. that should be more "in the moment". it feels as if the narrator is retelling the story from 10 years ago, there's just no emotional weight to the intense experiences he's describing. I'm still a Pearson fan, but I'll need to be more careful in the future before I buy any more audio books of his.
