I’m being hunted by all of Mythos Fae kind.
Why?
Because I’m about to go into my first heat.

For years, I’ve just been Serapina the human.
Now, I’m Sera the Mythos Fae Omega.
And apparently I harbor millennia’s worth of secrets inside my soul.

So not only am I trying to discover the memories hidden somewhere within my mind, but I’m also on the run…
With three irresistible fae.

Hades, the God of Death.
Morpheus, the God of Dreams.
Maliki, the Enforcer of Death.

I’m pretty sure their presence is going to inspire my heat to overtake me sooner rather than later.
Which will leave me a mindless, vulnerable mess.

Can I trust my new guardians to protect me?
Or am I going to find myself twisted up in a nest of lies?

I’d better unravel the threads soon.
Because the feral Alphas are not the only ones hunting me…
The truth is coming.
And it might just destroy us all.

Author’s Note: A Nest of Lies is book two of the Netherworld Fae trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger.

4.5 stars! Loved this continuation of the Netherworld Fae series. No spoilers, just high level, we have Morpheus continuing to lean in on his claim on Sera, Maliki is all in with her, she comes first over everyone, including Hades, who is slowly coming to terms with his reincarnated mate and what that means for their bond and sharing her in a mate circle. Sera’s heat gets closer, and they are trying to keep her safe, but it’s not easy. There are other allies who come to their aid, including Sera’s sister and her mate circle, and Typhos Lucifer and his mate circle (both from other books/series). But ultimately, we are pulled through this narrative with Maliki and Morpheus doing everything they can to help Sera and make her comfortable with where things are going, while Sera is adapting to all the changes. She’s also incredibly confused by Hades’ hot/cold behavior, which he’s finally starting to take responsibility for and do something about. Love the edging and the why choose spice - the way this is unfolding is fantastic. Another cliffhanger ending, CAN’T WAIT for the next book in the series!

The audiobook is, as usual with Lexi’s books, spectacular. Duet narration, with a full cast, including cameos by narrators from other series, escalate this story so well. I absolutely will always recommend a Lexi audiobook if you’re so inclined to read with your ears.

Another fantastic why choose PNR by Lexi C. Foss!

Possible Spoilers

If the goal was to make me despise a character, then this story succeeded. I like the enemies-to-lovers type of romance normally, but there is a fine line the writer has to walk when creating the "enemy" who is supposed to redeem himself. There was a lot of repetitive inner dialogue with Hades that got to be too much. I already had the understanding of why he couldn't trust the main character, and what he did to Morpheus (and Sera) was too much to redeem him in my eyes. Just b/c some things changed for the better in the story (trying not to be too spoilery) didn't take the nasty taste out of my mouth for the spoiled child that Hades became for me. And it was really hard to see how, if he loved Persephone as much as he claimed, he could buy her as the worst of the worst that he totes through most of the story without considering an alternative as Morpheus so easily does. And to also have Morpheus forgive the wrongs Hades put him through so easily frustrated me to no end. This book would be better off without Hades as this bad of a character, which shocks me b/c I'm always rooting for Lucifer or Hades in all my other romances. But this one was written too self-serving and emo for me to see him as a mate for Sera. He made my skin crawl throughout the whole book, all the way to the end. Voice acting was amazing. That was a plus for me. If the author was trying to get people riled up, I guess she did a great job. I just didn't enjoy the experience as much as I was hoping I would.

I liked it but didn't love it - Minor Spoilers
