It is a fact of history that when Neil Armstrong set Apollo 11 down on the moon he was running dangerously low on fuel. This Pushcart Prize-nominated story recounts an alternate history in which the lunar module crashed and man's journey to the moon ended not in triumph - but tragedy. A decade later, a pair of astronauts finally return to the moon.
And what they'll find is something no one expects.
About the author: Steven Mohan, Jr. has published scores of short stories in markets as diverse as Interzone, Polyphony, and Paradox, as well as several DAW original anthologies. His short fiction has won honorable mention in The Year's Best Science Fiction and The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror.

I agree with another review, where I would have liked to have seen this story expanded to be longer but it is still a story that will leave you thinking and thankful to be in the present.
The narration was really stellar, and even though it is an early audiobook in his career, it is still professional and well done. He has a great voice and uses it so many talented ways.
Good short story for fans of the moon landing.

What did you love best about A Monument More Lasting than Brass?
It was timely ( Neil Armstrong having recently passed ) and very crafty in how history is only slighly recast to build the story .What was one of the most memorable moments of A Monument More Lasting than Brass?
The resolution of the plot. Hard to discuss it without giving it wawy, but worth the 30 minutes to listen.Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes, although it sounded abit contrived at times. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YesAny additional comments?
Anyone alive during the Apollo missions should give this a listen.Short and very timely given the recent passing.
