As Liverpool's Specialist Murder Investigation Squad prepares for Christmas, Detective Inspector Andy Ross receives a phone call. Someone has murdered Santa Claus (well, a department store Santa). As the officer on call for the night, Ross attends to it along with Sergeant Izzie Drake, and thus begins one of the strangest investigations of his career.

With the main suspects being Santa Claus himself, in cahoots with an elf, Ross needs luck - and lots of it - as he seeks to solve the mystery in this book A Merry Mersey Christmas.

Though this is a shortened story in the Mersey Mystery Series by this author, Detective Inspector Andy Ross and Detective Superintendent Izzy Drake manage to solve yet another mystery at Christmastime. Nothing is lacking in this story. It contains all the excitement of the previous plots in the series.

I want to comment on the narrator. Jean Wilson's accent makes this story come alive. I knew the author is British and writes British stories and settings. What I learned was that these are stories taking place in Liverpool. That said, the narrator's Liverpudlian accent (accent to us in the US) comes across as authentic. Because of this I thoroughly enjoyed listening.

Again, this is another exciting story in the Mersey Mystery Series. I hope to hear all of these books go to Audio.
