Publisher's summary

After his departure from New York two years ago to meet up with his almost-fiancee, Zayne Beckett is the last person Agatha Watson wanted to stumble upon in her travels as a reporter with the New York Tribune. Quite pathetically bedraggled, he clearly needs to be taken in hand and sent back East to his family. Although she no longer has feelings for him, Agatha realizes, by hook or by crook, she'll have to be the one to get the obstinate man home.

Zayne has no desire to be taken anywhere and is prepared to drag his heels all the way home...until he finds himself slipping back into the familiar banter of his former friendship with Agatha. Once they arrive in New York, Zayne realizes Agatha's determined nose for news has earned her a few enemies, and he hopes to repay her help with some help of his own. When she rebuffs all his attempts to prove himself a knight in shining armor, the lengths to which they'll go to win this battle of wills lead to some memorable antics.

Everyone else may think them a match, but nothing could be further from the truth - until Agatha finds herself in real trouble. Have these two stubborn, too-smart-for-their-own-good people been meant for each other all along?

Cute clean story

The characters are outlandish and not very believable. The main character gets herself in trouble in just about every appearance she makes in the book.
But the love story is unique. It made up for the silly characters.

Cute, but not her best

Having read the rest of this series, I was looking forward to Agatha’s story. While it was fun, especially at the beginning, and the reader was great(love Justine Eyre) , it didn’t feel as fresh as many of Jen Turano’s do in their craziness. Implausibility is normal in her books, but sometimes here the character’s antics stretched implausibility too far into stupidity and it just all felt a bit tired and recycled compared to her other books. I would have enjoyed reading it in book form more, especially if my library had it, because then I can skim over the ogling and parts where it dragged a bit in the middle. It was read well, however, the reader did a great job, it’s just that when listening, it’s hard to skim over things. The pig was cute, but I think in this book, it felt like the writing was done by formula more than her other books, most of which I have enjoyed enough to reread.

Fantastic Series

This series is one of my all-time favorites, and this book is the best one. I laughed out loud again and again. And Justine is the best narrator I’ve ever heard.

Comedy, Drama and Romance

I love Jen Turano’s novels. She has a unique ability of creating characters that come to life. While some say her humor is silly I say it is such a gift at this time. I compare her to I love Lucy! She has made me laugh and cry.
I wish she would write follow-up novels with Piper and Agatha’s sisters.
Justine Eyre is the perfect narrator. She masters the voices of the men and children in this Series.
This is my 3rd time listening to this series and I still laugh.
Do yourself a favor and listen for the pure enjoyment of good comedy, drama and romance.

First three books in the series were great...

...this one is so incredibly annoying and Agatha is so moronic that I cannot even finish this book.
