Publisher's Summary
Some things just weren't meant to be - or were they?
Recent nursing school graduate Holly Miller knows from personal experience a slipup can cost a life. A mistake she made years ago still haunts her. She is determined to stay focused and not allow any distractions in her life - including an old high school classmate she ran into at the hospital who is as handsome as the pastries he bakes are tasty and sweet.
Matthew Cook had a crush on Holly back in high school and is surprised to find she's working at the local hospital. She'd rejected him when they were teens, but he seems to have her attention now. Can he convince her that she can have it all - including a love that lasts, without sacrificing her career?

learning to forgive yourself and others
Holly and Matthew have a past but will they have a future? Holly longs for her mom's approval but is all as it seems? Matthew wants to help Holly move beyond the past and finally give him a chance. A really sweet romance with all kinds of family issues. Great ending.

Sweet love story !
A great sweet clean romance . The story will keep your entertained to the last page . There is romance , caring , and redemption in the book . The narrator did an amazing job. I think you will like how the high school nerd goes From the ugly duckling to the handsome swan .

Cute!
Matthew had a crush on Holly in high school and asked her to prom unfortunately Holly turned him down. Years later they run into each other and he asks her out again only to get shot down again. This time Holly has different reasons like her career being her sole focus. I really liked the faith and nuggets of wisdom woven into this book. Although to me there wasn't as strong of a romance thread as there usually is in Kimberly Rose Johnson books. To me this book was more about Holly and her journey and growth. Also, Matthew's little niece was a cute addition to this story - little kids are so cute with their innocence! I gave the performance 4 stars because I thought the narrator sounded kind of stilted in some areas.
