Publisher's Summary

Scarlett would do anything to save her unborn baby, even return to a time she never thought she'd see again. Not for a moment had she missed the constant scrutiny of a celebrity life. To reappear now, inexplicably pregnant in the eyes of the modern world would create a media circus, but Scarlett knows she can overcome any obstacles with Laird at her side and the help of new friends drawn together across time itself by the enigmatic Scotsman known as Auld Donell.

The crafty old Scot had been busy over the years, not just meddling in Scarlett's life but browsing through time, tweaking history and changing the fates of his other "projects". They'd all received a second chance at love, but are unaware of how closely they're connected despite the years separating them. Unaware of how their Fates are entangled. And unaware of how Auld Donell's "master plan" to right a few wrongs of his own will put all their lives in peril against an unforeseen enemy.

Laird Hepburn spent years enjoying his wife's fantastic tales of the future world, but he'd never expected - or wanted to see it for himself. Now to ensure the survival of his unborn bairn and protect his family, he must face that alien world head on.

Last book in a series

I read the book before the listening to the book. I enjoyed the book; however, I did wonder how a narrator would pull off all the characters being together in one book. Not well. First, Hugh's name for Clare has completely changed in pronunciation. Emmy is supposed to be from Memphis, but has a now Scottish accent in the book. I loved the narrator in all the other books, but it seems like she did not listen to herself or review how each character sounded before recording this book. So glad I read the Kindle version first.

Wonderful series.

I've now listened to all 5 books in the series and all are worthy reads by themselves but once you start, it is hard to stop. Well written and beautifully narrated. Well Done!

I like this book, but...

I like this book, but the author needs to back away from "delicious" and "cherished." There has to be other words to use because these, especially delicious, are used to the point of nauseam. I love this narrator. One of my favorites.

A dicey attempt to wrap up the series.

This is the wrap up to the series so, after having read all the previous installments, I felt I had to give this a try even though it wasn’t included in the romance package. I admire the author for trying to bring some of the mysterious elements of this series together and explain them, but, imo, it didn’t work out very well. I understand the need for an antagonist to thicken the plot, but I found this villain to be no more developed than a Snidely Whiplash character from early cinema. The reason for his hatred was never clearly explained, nor were the magical machinations of ‘Auld Donald’ beyond the fact that he wanted to help these people and save the world. But the 'save the world' part was fuzzy. All was not lost as there were some wonderful characters from the previous books that were brought together and the beauty of it was in their mutual passion and loving devotion to each other. But I found the loose ends in the plot to be too distracting. Anyway, it’s very unusual for an author to wrap up a series in a meaningful way. Very few succeed, if they even try!

Great read

I do not leave many reviews however I just have to for this one. I am very good at figuring out the ending long before i get to it. NOT ON THIS READ it takes you through turns and twist you will not have guessed. If you want something you can not predict read this whole series. Thank you for the hours of laughter and tears.
