Publisher's summary

Bradford Bishop had it all: a beautiful wife, three towhead sons, a nice home in a quiet Maryland suburb, and a promising career in the US State Department. But on March 1, 1976, he threw it all away. After finding out he'd been passed over for a promotion, Bishop snapped. He went home and, in an act of unspeakable brutality, murdered his wife, his three boys, and his own mother - five people in all. Then he vanished off the face of the Earth. Or so it seemed.

Almost 40 years later, Peter Ross Range (author of the best-selling Murder in the Yoga Store) delivers the definitive story of Bishop's life and crime, following the trail from his privileged upbringing in California to his wily escape, including never-before reported details and chilling theories as to where he might be today.

Great Listen!

I love true crime. I absolutely recommend this one. It's nice and to the point, I also can say I remember this particular crime. I've scene the America's Most Wanted episode, where they had the bust made of what he would look like "today". So that added extra interest for me.
This is a short book of a horrific crime & the monster has never been caught! If your on the "fence" about this one.... Listen to it!

Gripping

This story is gripping, and unnerving. I don't want to spoil the story I'll just say you won't be bored. Very well written and I enjoyed listening. Just not how I wanted it to turn out!!

A Terrible Killer & Horrific Crime

This was an interesting true crime story about a man who brutally killed his family, similar to John List. Part is a bio and part covers the search for him. He has not been found. I hope this changes, he needs to be brought to justice.

Only God can forgive

Author takes the reader gently by the hand, knowing that the road ahead is treacherous

Conspiracy Theory Meets Murder

While I realize this book qualifies as a Kindle “Short,” it’s so short it leaves the reader with no connection to the victims, nor does it give any insight into the killer’s motives. There’s also the annoying element of “unsolved case,” as the murderer, Brad Bishop, has been on the run for 30+ years. This is where all kinds of conspiracy theories are given consideration—the CIA killed his family, the State Department did it, the FBI commutes the crime to halt a CIA investigation, etc etc.

Robert McCollom, the reader, does an excellent job interpreting the text and deliverinngnit smoothly. If you ever encounter him as a reader for another title, he’s worth the listen. Just NOT this book.

Boring

I stuck with it only because it was storming here and thought it would be short and at least somewhat interesting. I hope the author has had time to hone his skills. I don't like sounding mean but I found it one of the worst and uninteresting books I have ever listened to. The narrator was ok but the story itself was really lacking.

Easy to Follow - Quite the Story

Quick listen worth your time if you like True Crime. Incredible story. First half is pretty graphic. This family deserves justice, but it may never come.

Okay.

I don't like stories with no ending. This was ok but come on, find this guy.

Celebrates the Murderer

This was not what I expected. It spent a lot of time talking about the theories of what might have happened to the killer, which is not why I listen to true crime. It turns into a man's voice reading about the neato ways other men think maybe another man who killed his family might have escaped accountability. Not good. Not satisfying. Did not like.
