Publisher's summary

Ebony is a smart, sexy, career-oriented black woman who wants nothing more than a summer fling with a man who challenges her mind and body. What she doesn't expect is a blond haired, blue-eyed bass player - who won't take "no" for an answer - to accept the challenge.

When Ebony's attempt at a brief fling turns into more, despite negative reactions from friends and family, she finds juggling love, family, and career are nothing compared to the ultimate betrayal she endures. Now her dreams spiral into lies and secrets that threaten her future and her best friend's trust.

Versatile Narrator!

Would you consider the audio edition of A Heart Not Easily Broken to be better than the print version?

Comparing the audio edition of A Heart Not Easily Broken to the print version is like comparing apples to oranges. I just loved this story on its own, but I also love the series. When reading a story, you conjure up images and you hear it in your head in your own voice. The audio version of this story came close to what I heard in my head reading the story.

Any additional comments?

I would say Quiana did a great job with inflection, accents and adding bass to her voice when doing the male roles. You know who is whom.In addition, I really liked the "soundtrack" in this version. I loved the music chosen for the different scenes, but sometimes it overpowered the narrator.

An Emotional Rollercoaster

If you could sum up A Heart Not Easily Broken in three words, what would they be?

Relevant. Thought-provoking. Engaging.

Which character – as performed by Quiana Goodrum – was your favorite?

While I enjoyed Ebony most, Quiana's ability to seamlessly transition from one character to the next caused me to forget that she was performing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I experienced various emotions while listening to A Heart Not Easily Broken, laughing and crying were only a few. Yes, it was that good.

Any additional comments?

I could relate to almost every challenge Ebony and her girlfriends faced, both externally and internally. This audio book fits perfectly in the genre of Women's fiction and I'd strongly suggest you taking a listen.

MAKES US THINK

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. The content is very good. I like a little more heat in my books, but it was very good anyway.

What other book might you compare A Heart Not Easily Broken to and why?
Incarcerated. Love had to overcome some serious difficulty.

What didn’t you like about Quiana Goodrum’s performance?
TOO fast and everyone is ALWAYS speeding through daisies. UPDATE: If the speed is put at 85, she does an excellent job.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Can t judge a book by it s cover.

Liked the story, just not the narrator.

I enjoyed the book, but that narrator was reading like she did Stage Plays for a living. I do like plays, but her reading was overdone. Ebony and Brian's relationship was cute and believable.
