Publisher's summary

Clay Kartwell loses his job and gets a call from his estranged father asking for his help back on the family farm, all on the same day. Clay knows he has to return home, even though it’s the last thing he wants to do. Some things back home are best left unremembered.

Dell Warrington was Clay’s unrequited high school crush and the man he least wants to see. He’s everything Clay remembered and more, including the father of four-year-old Archie. But Dell hasn't had it easy either, and not everything is as it seems.

Clay sets out to save the farm and bring in the crops with Dell’s help. Old assumptions fall to the side as the two men reconnect, and the second chance that Clay never knew he wanted seems within his grasp. But Clay left the farm for a reason, and reconciliation with his stoic father won’t be easy. When his city life offers a new opportunity, he must decide whether to accept what he knows, or follow his heart in this heartwarming M/M gay romance.

Charming romance!💜

ChI loved how this story was written. Although it’s a short book, it didn’t feel rushed. I liked how the story just jumps right in mixing in a little of the drama here and there so that we get the entire backstory. The chemistry between the characters was hot, as well as the single dad storyline.
The narration was good, but took a minute to get used to. There were some long pauses in between here and there but it wasn’t too bad. Some of the character voices were a sexy kinda of whisper that were HAF 🔥 moments. That said, I would love to try this narrator & author again, both are new to me.
This is book 1 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.

Love is Love

Such a cute romance. I love how Dell was so honest and straight forward with Clay. It sadden me that Clay and his dad haven’t spoken in so long due to a misunderstanding. I feel if this air was cleared sooner Clay wouldn’t be so hesitant with Dell now. I fell in love with Dell little boy too! This author was new to me and I instantly fell in love with the writing! Joshua did a great job telling the story as well! I truly can’t wait for the next book to come out to see what’s next!

Quick feel good romance

Sweet story, pulled me in from the beginning. Second chance with no angst, each MC just needs to figure out what they want and make it happen. Enjoyed it, just wish it was longer. Enjoyed the narration as well, it was a very soothing listen.

Sweet novella

Single POV, low steam, family complications, childhood friends reconnecting, low angst, small town, single dad

New author for me and excited for the next book in the series.

New narrator for me - Joshua Macrae - great narration. Looking to hearing more from him.

Good listen

Love Joshua macrae. His voice “swoon”!!!! The story was good felt a little rushed just in the beginning think maybe a little more push and pull couldve been in the beginning. Other than that it was good story.

cowboy love

Nothing better than a cowboy romance. At times I wanted to smack Clay. He was so hesitant he almost lost his chance at love!!! I liked that he and his dad finally reconciled and communicated better. Archie was a charmer. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Great Story & Narration🎧 A Heartfelt Delight!

I enjoyed this book immensely, you could feel how much heart Andrew Grey put into this story as the emotions pour off the pages and into your heart. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are likable and easy to care about too. When Clay Kartwell left home, he was not on the best of terms with his father, he has been on his own for a while and made a decent life for himself. Then he gets a call from his estranged father asking him to come home that he needs the help on the farm just after losing his job. He agrees to help him out until he is back on his feet after an injury. Back in his home town he sees the one he had a crush on, Dell Warrington, who now has a young son, Archie, but Clay knew he never stood a chance with Dell since he thought he was straight. Clay’s relationship with his father is still rocky, but when they finally communicate, he has some eye-opening moments. The same with Dell, I thought the two were great together and for each other, it took Clay a bit to realize the same. And Archie, the scene stealer, was absolutely adorable. I loved how everything played out in book, it is a beautifully written and plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions and a wonderful romance. Andrew Grey, thank you for this fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Joshua Macrae is a talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. He had a complete understanding of the character he portrayed, gives each a voice that fits the character’s persona perfectly, sounding believable in each role he played. You could hear how much heart he put into his work as he captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into his performance and had you feeling every single one. Macrae is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen.
