Jodi Weathers was stunned when the mayor of Sandy Shoals offered her the job of police chief. She had grown up along the coast of Georgia and it would mean returning to an area she loved, but her first inclination was to refuse. She didn’t feel qualified even when the mayor described her duties as writing reports and shaking hands. “The Sheriff’s Department will take care of the real police work,” he assured her. “You’ll be handling public relations.” At the time the mayor had no warning of the approaching hurricane, and he couldn’t have foreseen finding a dead woman on the beach. To be fair, Jodi also didn’t mention that she was seeing her ex-husband. Her dead, ex-husband. She knew he was dead because she had gone to his funeral. Jodi finally convinced herself that she wasn’t crazy, and that what was needed to escape the ghost of her ex-husband was a change of scenery. But then the second ghost showed up, and that was a ghost too many.

I can’t “hear” the story with virtual voice

Use audio books when I’m doing other things. Finally tries a virtual voice cause this sounded like a story I’d like. Just can’t follow. AUDIBLE MAKE A WAY TO FILTER OUT VIRTUAL VOICE STORIES PLEASE!

I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the story and the characters it created. I did not enjoy the virtual voice, if you are going to use virtual voice then let AI add a new voice for each character.

Lame

Lame story, weak plot, a lot of cliches and virtual voice again fails to deliver. The two stars are the benefit of the doubt, virtual voice tends to create a sense of boredom in the material.

the plot did not take you where expected.

I really enjoyed the characters. I would love more of Jodi, Francine and Carol. those three will stir up the community.
