Wonderful Sequel

Yep, still in love with Liam and Gabriel. Story didn't disappoint. Narration superb. This almost wraps up Liam's initial past trauma we were introduced to in the first book. I hope their story continues but, if not, this was a nice ending. May Liam and Gabriel be forever happy together.

Liam Paige is back and his past is haunting him

Detective Liam Paige is back. He reads like this is a monster or alien book, but he's just either on the spectrum or his detachment is a coping mechanism from his tragic past. And that past is here to haunt him.

It's only a month later, but Liam and Gabriel are fast forward on their relationship. It's adorable. We get to meet the parents. There may or may not be more pets. And all the while there is a murderous mystery to solve.

Greg Boudeaux is my favorite narrator, and Alice Winters is one of my favorite writers. So I was always gonna love this book. I hope there will be more in this series.

A New Favorite

I thought for sure The Hitman’s Guide books would never be topped (ha!), but it has happened! I am absolutely in love with this series! Liam and Gabriel are just perfect. I think for me it’s Liam‘s grab sarcasm. It hits me where I live. I love his snark. I love everything about him. I even love that. He’s a part-time serial killer. He may not always be the good guy, but I root for him. His love of Gabriel is nothing short of spectacular. I also love that. Gabriel loves Liam in spite of this flaw and sometimes because of it. They match made in heaven.

I will admit that this story was a little hard to follow. There were a lot of characters whose names I forgot if I took even a few hours break from the story. I almost had to write them all down, just to make sure that I kept them all straight. Once we got to the bottom of exactly what was going on, then it made more sense. It just seemed like there were a lot of extraneous characters that just didn’t really need to be there. But that’s on me.

Bottom line, I hope this series continues for a long time. I love Liam‘s banter with Matthew. He completely holds his own with Liam. I love the grumpy Michaels. It is reminiscent of Leland and Henry, but it’s just enough different that it makes it fun. This is just a great series and Alice Winters has done another wonderful job of creating a wonderful cast of characters and I can’t wait for the next installment.

Another hit from Alice ❤️

Alice manages to make a grumpy and a bit (a lot) dickish serial killer into a lovable character. The story and world building are well written, present entwined with past, thrilling plot and the unwavering commitment and loyalty (and obsession 😬) makes the romance so sweet. Greg Boudreaux never fails to bring the stories and characters to life in a talented, enjoyable way.

LOVED IT!

I really loved this audio, Liam’s strange behaviour is fun. And Gabriel just going along with Liam is funny, as well as his obsession with his cat lol.

Greg once again did an awesome job in narrating.

So far (2 books in), this series has been amazing! I loved the storyline and each character’s personality…and what “made” them.

I’m thinking we’ll see Cole and/or Sadie again, no? 🤗

Oh yeah, and, along with mystery and some seriously funny snark from the ever-charming (shakes head & whispers: no, not really…not so much “charming”…more like “alarming”🙂‍↔️), there’s a good dose of spice! 🌶️ 😉
