I honestly thought Kate Reading was better than this after listening to the Wheel of Time series. Now it's clear that Michael Kramer's performance was so bad that Kate sounded phenomenal by comparison. It's an otherwise fun story of a distant future that kinda mixes Star Wars with Firefly. If you can deal with Kate's ridiculous character voices, give it a go.

Interesting story, mediocre narration

Engaging characters and an outstanding performance are what had me rating this 5 stars. I knocked a star off for the storyline because of the mind-power/pseudo magical star seers. I prefer more science and less fantasy, but not really more fantastical than some explanations for faster than light travel.

Enjoyable story and performance

The story is very enjoyable. the narrator performs the female characters wonderfully. Her range for the male characters leaves me wanting more.

Lindsay is a great author, this is my third series with her. I truly enjoy her style and imagination

my humble opinion

The story is great, but the decision making process of the MC has something to be desired, making it seem like decisions she makes are based on her experience with individuals but NO just her personal feelings about her perceptions, of them. Just seemed feelings over facts, impulsive, and without meaningful thoughts about the next step

But why????

I liked the storyline for the most part, nothing too heavy but not a bad concept. The only thing I personally didn’t need was the romance and latent sexual tension. It just doesn’t add anything to the story to me but of you need that in your life, I can tolerate it. The publisher pack was a nice way to get into a series so I appreciated that bonus.

A decent storyline…
