Story
Celine Montclaire goes to the Shadow Market to escape. She would go anywhere in Paris, or the entire world, to escape the suffering she experiences at the hands of her family. She did not expect to meet Valentine Morgenstern there, or to have him promise her freedom and the heart of the man she secretly loves. On one condition, of course. At the Shadow Market, nothing is for free.

Not the best one
The story was nice, but the narrator was awful. Her voice was weak and her vocal fry was like nails on a chalkboard. She did not do well with accents and different voices, thus taking me out of the story.

Great story; Lousy narration
I loved the story because.. London, Jem, Tessa... But do these narrators do no research into the most widely accepted or used accents for recurring characters? Katerina has an accent that sounds as though it were from the West Indies or maybe even Spain. The narrator did American accents at first until she appeared to recall that background characters should have British accents.

Short glimpse
I would love for the story to be longer in timespan, it was too short! It gave only a short glimpse into what had happened to Tessa in the interwar-period, and I had hoped for more. But obviously, too much can’t be spoiled yet as there is more books go come about what happens to Tessa & Will in 1903, and probably with the 2012-series in LA. Sigh The narrator had a bit annyoing tone, otherwise good story.

I cried the entire time.
I am loving listening to these novellas! If you haven't read The Infernal Devices then most of these Novellas would mean nothing to you but this one made my heart ache and swell at the same time. The love between Tessa, Will and Jem is extremely powerful and I cried over and over listening to this.
