A sweet mystery~

Overall I enjoyed the story.
When listening to a narrator I need to be able to picture what they read and the characters through their interpretation.
This fell short for me. The voices were to close to each other and kind of flat. I fell that the narrator would do better with just reading one side of a story. Multiple characters did not work for me.
As for the mystery / murder I enjoyed the line of suspects. It had me really thinking through all the suspects which I had a hard time picking the culprit.
With that said, I did like the story but personally would find a different narrator.

A Deadly Dessert Disaster

Just as Sabrina and David are thinking maybe things have calmed down in their little town they're called to a crime scene. As they arrive Sabrina notices her daugher and offers her support as this is the first actual body she's discovered. Now the Carlsons need to find the killer. The suspects are her husband, her sister and the man who offered to buy her business. Clues keep popping up as well as lies and hidden truths that pop out at surprising moments.
Stephanie Quinn is an excellent narrator who brings the characters to life.
Fantastic audio and story

Earns 4/5 Alibis...Delicious Fun!

Do nightmares herald someone’s death? Sabrina Carlson is wrestling with that idea. Rachel McHenry is dead. She seemed a nice lady, but as the murder investigation evolves, there seems to be more to her and those around her that increase the number of suspects, compounded by the fact that alibis are questionable. Sabrina, manager of the popular Daley Buzz Coffee Company, has found a great deal of success, along with some personal peril, investigating suspicious deaths, and although her detective/husband worries about her safety, he recognizes her innate abilities, so they collaborate...can’t beat ‘em...join ‘em? Meredith Potts has penned an entertaining novella following a well-established cozy formula. It’s not complex, just an easy-to-read cozy with sensory-fulfilling language, delightful humor, and traditional characters illustrated by realistic dialogue. I recommend getting this book, cozy fans will enjoy it, and for audiobook fans, I suggest checking out the audio version narrated by voice artist Stephanie Quinn. Although it is more of a conventional interpretation, I enjoyed it. There were so many characters involved, it seemed a huge task to perform the distinct and varied voices adequately. But, the story had enough names, he said, she said, and references to make it obvious who’s talking, so I wasn’t confused. Performing male voices, a challenge for female narrators, was satisfactorily completed. However, she did well illustrating tone, emotion, suspense. I love cozies. I love uncomplicated. I love clever and humorous stories. This book in any format has the boxes checked.

such a fun cozy series

I love listening to these adorable cozy mysteries. They are perfection for car rides. The characters are endearing and the story-line is always light fun and has a dash of intriguing mystery as the villian is soon discovered.

Enjoyable

A Deadly Dessert Disaster, my thirty-seventh read from prolific author Meredith Potts. Obviously I like this author's well-written & enjoyable work, another cute, clean cozy mystery. I look forward to reading more from this author. . I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Stephanie Quinn’s narration added to the well-written book's enjoyment. Cute story

The story is cute and entertaining. However to me, the voices of the characters in the audio were grating.

Sabrina does it again!

There is something about a cozy mystery that just relaxes me. This series is so much fun with all the episodes including quirky characters that we have gotten to know and love. This story has Sabrina waking up with nightmares, only to find that there is a murder once again in Treasure Cove. When Sabrina arrives at the scene with her husband David, they also find their daughter Jessica! And from there our investigation begins. It's a myriad of suspects, all eccentric and pointing fingers in every direction. It's not until Sabrina finds the one piece that leads her to victory and a delicious dessert! Continued narration by Stephanie Quinn gives us the consistency I love. We always know who is speaking and that makes the story that much better.
