#1 New York Times bestselling author Kristen Ciccarelli weaves the epic love story of a magical girl, the boy she left behind, and a deadly curse.

“Lush, dark, and romantic. I could have remained lost in the woods forever." - Isabel Ibañez, #1 New York Times bestselling author of What the River Knows

No matter how far she runs, the forest always comes for Emeline Lark, haunting her with its mysterious disappearances and its tales of fae magic.

When her grandfather goes missing, Emeline is forced to venture into the woods to save him. There, Hawthorne Fell, a handsome and brooding tithe collector, brutally tries to dissuade her from searching, even as a magnetic spark ignites between them.

Undeterred, Emeline enters the court of the fabled Wood King and makes a deal: her voice for her grandfather’s freedom. Little does she know, she’s stumbled into a curse that threatens the very existence of this eerie world she’s now trapped in. To survive, she’ll need to team up with the fiery yet secretive Hawthorne. If she fails, she’ll lose everything she holds dear.

Devastating and romantic, in Kristen Ciccarelli’s A Dark Forgetting, everything has a cost.

"Darkly gorgeous and moving… full of curses and fae magic that will capture your heart and wrap it in thorns before setting you free again, forever changed." —Evelyn Skye, New York Times bestselling author of The Crown's Game

"Precise in construction and style, with an elegant and eerie music motif, this easily earns a place on Stiefvater fans’ TBR lists." - The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books (starred review)

"Characters are the highlight of Ciccarelli’s novel as she explores communities—the kind you’re born into and the ones you build for yourself—by building families, friendships, and romances that will sweep readers away...whimsical and threatening." - School Library Journal

"A spellbinding tale of magic, music, and sacrifice." - Publishers Weekly

"Edgewood has everything I love in a Kristen Ciccarelli book: lyrical prose, a romance that will hurt, and themes rooted in raw and intimate questions, making for a timeless tale." - Joan He, New York Times bestselling author of The Ones We're Meant to Find

"With gorgeous writing and a strong female lead, Edgewood is a tale for anyone who loves their fantasies lush, dark, and romantic. I could have remained lost in the woods forever." - Isabel Ibañez, author of Woven In Moonlight and Written in Starlight

"Reading this book in a dark forest during a thunderstorm while listening to Folklore was A Choice, and I regret nothing." - E.K. Johnston, New York Times bestselling author of Queen's Shadow and Exit, Pursued by a Bear

"Darkly gorgeous and moving, Edgewood is full of curses and fae magic that will capture your heart and wrap it in thorns before setting you free again, forever changed. Ciccarelli has created a hauntingly beautiful world with characters who question how you love and lose yourself and those dearest to you, and whether you can ever recover. I devoured Edgewood whole and couldn't put it down." - Evelyn Skye, New York Times bestselling author of The Crown's Game

"Compelling and atmospheric, Edgewood is a beautifully woven fantasy in which love isn’t always what it seems and even the most heartfelt dreams have a terrible cost. Like the roots that catch and bind in the story’s magical forest, Edgewood doesn't let go—it will keep you spellbound until the very end." - Gita Trelease, author of the Enchantée series

“I’m still thinking about Edgewood days after finishing it. It’s a tale comprised of deep emotion, sizzling romance, and a gripping mystery. I loved being in the dangerous woods with Emeline, and I know readers will, too!” - Tricia Levenseller, author of The Shadows Between Us

I added this to my wishlist after seeing it on Instagram and then almost deleted it bc I wasn’t blown away by the description or the sample, but I’m glad I gave it a chance.

It’s about a hidden magical world with elements that remind me of several different stories and fairy tales and a FMC who’s spunky but also naive and believable. I personally prefer my MMC with a little more snark but this one was sweet while still being imperfect.

Was unsure after reading the description but instantly hooked

Kristen Ciccarelli is one of my few auto-buy authors. Her prose is clean and beautiful, her plots are complex and interesting, her characters are people I want to know, and her romance is heartbreakingly poignant every time. The world building and magic system in this was so unique and the layers of plot were perfect. I would read a dishwasher manual if Kristen Ciccarelli wrote it.

Once in a blue moon, you stumble upon a book that captures your heart in its entirety. A book that you love with such force, you can hardly put your emotions into words. Edgewood was such a book for me. Hawthorne and Emeline's story has taken root in my chest; I haven't been able to stop thinking about this one since I finished it a few days ago, and I know Edgewood will stick with me for quite some time. The only thing keeping it from being a -perfect- read is that I wanted just a tiny bit more dimension from the protagonist, but her love for her grandfather and her struggle of wanting to be there for him without sacrificing her own happiness really resonates. This is a story of loss, healing, and love in it's many forms, and I can't recommend it enough.

weak premise building to a weak storyline with a weak story overall. Waste of time

I listened to all of her other books first and was amazed by her story telling, this must of been her first published book because all of her other books are so well told. I liked the idea of this one but it doesn’t hit as hard as her others.

Mediocre compared to her others
