Publisher's Summary

After a lifetime of heartbreak, the word "family" makes Celeste Hennessy want to run for the hills. So why does the sexy, famous billionaire Grant Bronson claim her as his wife - and the mother of his six-year-old child Jeffrey? Turns out, Celeste's late sister was keeping some dangerous secrets - and so is Grant.

Grant is not quite human, but he is quite ruthless. He'll stop at nothing to ensure his little boy's safety - but does that include toying with Celeste's fragile heart? With dark forces from Jeffrey's past coming to claim him, Celeste has no choice to turn to Grant for help. Too bad the closer she gets to Grant, the more danger she's in.

Contains mature themes.

Female character is beyond confusing

I am so confused by the main female character. What a weird background to give such a shallow character. She is initially described as distant and strong, only having to rely on herself; yet at every turn in this story she is a feeble dependent cry baby. She has such a rich and engrossing back story yet doesn’t match up to any of her actions in this story. Definitely thought her ability to “talk her way into any secure building” would have been used more and cunningly. Wanted to see grants story since he seemed like an interesting character in the first one, but his story with Jennifer was weak as well. The whole story could have been richer, definite potential there just didn’t follow through.
Did contain sex scenes and they were done well.

Fell Short

I love Ms. St.Clair's work, but this one fell short for me. I usually finish her books in one day, however, this book took over a week to finish. This book just did not hold my attention. I could not connect to any of the characters, and especially did not like the little boy, Jeffrey. The chemistry was lacking for the 2 main characters, and while I loved the background characters, they just were not used enough in the book for me to enjoy. Very disappointed in this book.

Plot twists abound

Just when I thought I had the whole thing figured out, the story flipped and laughed at my ignorance. Secrets revealed that I never expected. Misdirection every which way. So much fun to read.

What an intriguing story

This is the second book in the Alpha Billon-Were series and it is just as good as the first. This second story is entertaining and fun too, with a couple of feisty females who do not take orders well. The story line has some twist and turns that will keep you guessing.

Eh

So the blurb was a bit misleading to me. "So why does the sexy, famous billionaire Grant Bronson claim her as his wife – and the mother of his six year old child Jeffrey?" There's no confusion about Celeste's identity, and there's a perfect reason why Grant has her pretend to be her sister and marry him. I was never unclear about any of Grant's motives. He was a good man. It took me a long time to finish this book because nothing just grabbed me to make finish in one sitting. I finished because I had read the other two books of this series and was curious about what happened in this book. The child, Jeffrey, was used like a plot device. He's not there much unless he's in danger or about to expose shifters to humans. The bad guy and his motives were very unique, so it has that going for it.

The narration was fine. She didnt have a different voice for everyone but I could hear a tone difference for each character.

Excellent Book 2

The story was an excellent continuation from book one. It answers questions and makes you sympathetic to the leads. if you liked book one, book two doesn't leave you wanting. The narration was good as well.

Struggled to finish this..

Struggled to finish this book. in bot sure if the almost monotone narration was the problem or the poor writing. Will not be listening to another in this series.
