For high-beginner to low-intermediate learners.

Master French conversational connectors (or transition phrases) in the next 30 days, with this innovative, story-based immersion method. Just listen to one section per day, complete the exercises, and watch as conversational connectors fall into place and improve your fluency without a hitch!

With 30-Day Mastery: Conversational Connectors you'll learn through example and context, just like native speakers do! The magic of learning through story is that your main focus is actually not on memorising anything...you concentrate on understanding and enjoying the story! As you're listening to the story, you will find that all of the conversational connectors in the audio will begin to lodge themselves subconsciously in your brain. It doesn't happen right away - in fact it may take a couple of weeks for you to feel the real effects. But by the end of this audiobook, you'll have a native-like command of French conversational connectors that will amaze you and your friends!

In this story, you will listen all about Jack Martin, a retired police investigator in Paris, who is called back to solve a string of murders in Auvergne. The prefect, an old friend of Jack’s, suspects that a serial killer has been operating in the area. Despite some initial misgivings, and flanked by his friend George, Jack decides to help with the investigation. However, he may have bitten off more than he can chew, as a simple murder investigation evolves into something more.

Great story and French practice!

Really enjoyed the overall story (minus the violence/murder aspects), especially the characters of Jack and George. Would like another similar volume of this book (at the same level) to practice more. I wish the table of conversational connectors at the beginning of the book included ALL those used in the book. Also, I would like to see definitions of ALL the words bolded throughout the stories defined at the end (or in table at beginning) and don’t follow why they were not? Loved the chapter quizzes, the first 5 were story comprehension (did better on those!) and the second 5 were grammar in general (for these would really appreciate a brief explanation with the answer as have no idea why I got wrong those that I did so you can’t really learn from mistakes). Also, the quizzes in English could use a proofing by native speaker as there were quite a few errors (for example, p168 on 2c “no quarter” does not translate and means nothing in this context. Also, a lot of “that” sentence should be “this” sentence, etc. Also, just general mistakes like p173 reference to George should be Ruffin, and p175 #8 “sans doute” repeated in sentence.

Overall, it was enjoyable and I liked to read the story from paperback version first and then listen along to it again with audible version after. For those of you who are only listening along to audible version, I encourage you to also get the paperback so you can read along.

.pdf does not include the text

This may be good if you are a strong intermediate and do not need the text to go along with the audio. Although a .pdf is included, it does not contain the text - that is a separate purchase. Be aware!
