Have you been trying to learn Portuguese and simply can’t find a way to expand your vocabulary? Do your teachers recommend you boring textbooks and complicated stories that you don’t really understand? Are you looking for a way to learn the language quicker without taking shortcuts? If you answered “Yes!” to at least one of those previous questions, then this book is for you! We’ve compiled the 2000 Most Common Words in Portuguese, a list of terms that will expand your vocabulary to levels previously unseen.
Did you know that - according to an important study - learning the top 2000 most frequently used words will enable you to understand up to 84 percent of all non-fiction and 86.1 percent of fiction literature and 92.7 percent of oral speech? Those are amazing stats, and this book will take you even further than those numbers!
In this book, you'll discover:
- A detailed introduction with tips and tricks on how to improve your learning.
- A list of 2000 of the most common words in Portuguese and their translations.
- An example sentence for each word - in both Portuguese and English.
- Finally, a conclusion to make sure you’ve learned, and we supply you with a final list of tips.
Don’t look any further; we’ve got what you need right here!
In fact, we’re ready to turn you into a Portuguese speaker...are you ready to get involved in becoming one?

Here are my observations for improvement.
1) I think that the terms should be in some sort of order such as numbers, days of the week, professions, feelings, colors, pronouns, foods, places, etc. The whole random approach will have your mind all over the place.
2) The audiobook technically consists of tens or scores of thousands of words because the narrator will first mention the specific term in the Portuguese, then English, then a whole sentence in Portuguese and then a whole sentence in English. It’s the sentence in Portuguese including the key term that can overload one’s brain.
3) It would be nice if the audiobook had some sort of visual transcription. The software exists, just not yet for Audible.com yet.
Is it worth the money, tough to say for the first time? Maybe when I’m more fluent in Portuguese, I may change my mind.
