I have many Brazilian Portuguese audiobooks. This one is my go to. It's happy, entertaining and memorable. You won't regret this purchase.

A Different Style of Instruction

First, definitely listen to the Sample before purchasing. This is a different style of language instruction, and I imagine it's not for everyone. But if you've tried the drier books on the topic, maybe it's time to try something set to a music track.

The concept is simple. The spoken word is synchronized to the music track playing behind. So the conversation becomes almost like lyrics. There is a nice style of repetition they do here too that also lends itself to learning. They will typically take a sentence ("where would you like to go to eat") and say that a few times along with its translation, and then break up each word/component ("where", "would", "you", etc.) and learn the meaning of individual words. Sometimes they say it slow and sometimes at normal speed.

Again, this style is not for everyone, but I enjoyed it, and will listen to this again a few times to help me brush up on my Portuguese. Worth a credit.

The background music really adds to the listening and learning experience. The narrators do a good job of playing off each other. The lessons are fairly simple but seem to be accurate and even colloquial. I only wish that Earworms had more courses beyond Volumes 1 & 2.

Parts 1 & 2 are reversed. Start with chapter 11!

I love these ear worms travel-focused audio programs. They cover the same content with the same music.
In this case, please start with chapter 11. That is actually the start of part one.
Audible, please fix this.
I also recommend carefully choosing between the European and Brazilian Portuguese programs. They are analogous to Castilian and new world Spanish, British and US English, or European French and québécois French. It’s easier to go to Portugal with Brazilian dialect than Brazil with Portuguese pronunciation.

Personally I like to learn both versions, but I’m a nerd.

Rapid Confusion

What disappointed you about Rapid Brazilian (Portuguese): Volumes 1 & 2)?

The Volumes are reversed. Volume 1, Chapter 1 is really Chapter 11 on the recording, while Volume 2 Chapter 1 ins Chapter 1 on the recording.
