Im not married but i am engaged. So reading this book helped me understand what i may be doing wrong. But this book also identifies what your are also doing right which i like.

What everyone should listen to

I don't have big problems with my love story even though I think it is never wrong to try books like this one: you can always learn something new and avoid being caught by naive mistakes.
There are excellent tips that I think are good for any kind of couple at any stage (i.e., how to communicate with the partner or why and how to give her/him the needed attention).
I really appreciate how the audiobook is organized; the narration is also enjoyable.

Awesome resource for your marriage

I loved this audiobook because I thought it was a real, honest and authentic way of looking at marriage. It was well written and easy to follow along. i liked how the author gave some fantastic suggestions and I even learned a couple mistakes I was making listed in this book. i have been in a committed relationship for over 10 years, I Am no expert here, but this audio book is full of great tips and information. I found a lot of aha moments and nodding my head listening. The book dug deep into the poison of secrets. And how communication is a huge part of the success of any relationship. Worth a listen for sure!

Important Lesson we should all learn

I have been with my spouse since i was very young and to my amazement, long term relationships do not turn into the dream-like relationship represented in movies and stories. In real life it is different you have to learn how to become a team and let go of the expectations you once had. the book preaches this and reassured me that this is actually okay and the way you need to manage your relationship. the scenarios presented in the book are also extremely helpful as they are some common struggles for most relationships and tackling them is crucial to a happy relationship.

Thankfully my marriage doesn't need help -however, that doesn't mean I don't still read and listen and look for "that edge" that will make me a better husband and partner. Picked this up as my wife and I have entered marriage counseling since our daughter left for college. In recent years it does feel like she and I have drifted apart, and our counsellor suggested that we take our marriage seriously, and along with counseling sessions, read any material we feel drawn to on the subject.

For anyone looking for functional techniques to improve their marriage, with explanations for how to apply them, then I would definitely give this title a shot.
