This book has been written by a Christian, for other Christians. It offers advice using Bible stories as a framework. This needs to be made clear in the title or blurb as the material is irrelevant for non Christians - that is, most people.
I will be seeking a refund.

More than common sense, the book integrates wisdom and meaning into life. Love the way Biblical narratives are woven into the rules. An effort to re-establish foundational truths in our society. Masterful. Jordan is a man for these times.

Better than the book...

What made the experience of listening to 12 Rules for Life the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed as well as it's delivery. Looking back if I only read the book I would have missed out a great deal, if you watch his vides Peterson has such a unique way of speaking that I feel just reading him a lot of the tension or impact can be lost. I still want to get the paperback but I genuinely believe he is one of the few authors that you need to listen to for the full effect.

It's worth it!

Just in case you stumble across this review considering whether or not it's worth consuming the wisdom in this book, it is well worth every bit of money, time, effort, and attention.

Very difficult to explain the impact of a piece of art like this except to say that you will not finish the book as an unchanged person, that is truly impossible. Prepare to laugh, cry, get angry and be provoked because you can't touch themes like this without feeling something rich.
