Narraration killed it for me

I truly tried to get into it, but the calm smooth voice did SO MUCH better at putting me to sleep than performing the story. It was almost impossible to figure out what character was speaking, and there is no difference between the sound of a calm scene and an excited scene.

Great stories by master writers

So many great stories here and only one comment and one complaint.

comment - as with other collections, this needs the Chapters to have labels so one can find stories without flipping through. I did listen to them all, except one, and enjoyed them. just kept wanting to flip back and forth.

complaint - I love Zane Grey. I have most of his works. The reader for The Border Legion drove me nuts. Finally I was forced to give up halfway through chapter 2. Ugh. what was he doing with his voice? Don't know what it could be called except irritating. I hope others might like his voice because I am going to have to avoid other books read by him.

No

The stories didn’t deserve the one star but I didn’t want my review to include redeeming qualities. Don’t buy

Audio keeps crashing out

I was looking forward to listening to some of the classics I had not heard. At first all was well performace and reader were not terrible and were quite easy to listen too even with the slight American accent and poor characterisations. I was up to part 5 of Tess and....nothing no audio/would not play back so I deleted and reloaded. Which worked it had even saved my spot and within 30 mins same issue again! Having reloaded again I had to find my spot but this time only managed 10 mins of listening. I'm quite annoyed to say the least I will have to get a different version to finish this one book. Thank goodness I had a credit to waste!
