A hard-working ruler, the Yongzheng Emperor's main goal was to create an effective government at minimal expense. Like his father, the Kangxi Emperor, the Yongzheng Emperor used military force to preserve the dynasty's position. His reign was known for being despotic, efficient, and vigorous.


雍正作为“康乾盛世”中间的帝皇，其在位十三年间所做的一系列改革如“火耗归公”“摊丁入亩”“官绅一体当差纳粮”等在一定程度上缓和了清朝统治集团与底层人民的茅盾，提升了朝廷的组织效率，客观上为乾隆一朝的铺张浪费提供了物质基础。

其政治手腕、人格心性皆超出其他皇子一等，所以能在皇位争夺中胜出。我们在历史中总是会看到超越于时代的政治改革家，如管仲、王莽等，无疑雍正就是这样一位改革家。

Redundant with last book of KangXi

I hesitated while ordering this book, and I gave to say, it is pretty much a rewrite of the last book of the KongXi series - understandable, since it’s the same author writing the same story. I just felt I could have just moved right into book 2 instead. Do not feel I learned much new info. There were a few more side characters.
