Long before she took up the title of Starry Knight, Raiya Cole knew she was different. Ever since she survived the car crash that killed her parents, the truth about her supernatural powers - and her destiny as a fallen Star - shaped her life, preparing her for a battle she knew would come one day. With the help of Grandpa Odd, her beloved mentor, Raiya works to maintain control over her power and train as a Starlight Warrior. But the battle she prepared for is not the first one she must face.

Sixteen-year-old Hamilton Dinger leads a charmed life. He's got the grades for the top of the class, the abilities of a star athlete and Tetris player, and the charisma to get away with anything. Everything seems to be going along perfectly, including his plans to ask out Gwen Kessler, as he enters into tenth grade at Apollo Central High School.

As if Hamilton Dinger needs any more frustration at the moment. Not only has he accepted his duty as a Starlight defender, he's got swim meets to prepare for, his little brother to babysit, and an annoying new girl in his class. Plus he's got his 'mentor' dragon, Elysian, on his back every chance he gets, and his 'co-defender,' Starry Knight, urging him to quit the superhero business after every battle.

There is nothing like a birthday to give Hamilton Dinger something to look forward to in his busy life. With his new job as a part-time intern at the Mayor's office, being a full-time high school student and Starlight Warrior has its challenges. The arrival of SWORD, the growing demonic activity in Apollo City, and the increasingly negative media attention has sparked ongoing unrest among the city and its inhabitants.

With the arrival of 11th grade, Hamilton Dinger has no shortage of activities to pursue. With his job at the mayor's office, schoolwork, and fighting off evil, he has no time to worry about Starry Knight's recent betrayal and his relentless fixation with her.

Despite the decrease in crime and attacks, Hamilton knows it is only a matter of time before the remaining Sinisters and their mysterious new leader cause more trouble for him. When Alora comes under attack, Hamilton and his team, with help from his new friend, Mary, set off with St. Brendan the Navigator to restore the flow of time. But it is only after they work to save Time do they realize how little of it they have left.

The end is approaching for Hamilton Dinger and his friends. As the forces of darkness in Apollo City gain power, Hamilton finds himself on trial as the media, the law, and even his friends seem to have turned on him. The souls of the city, and the world, are on the line as the long-fought war against Alkuzor, Draco, and the Seven Deadly Sinisters comes to a crux with SWORD, Wingdinger, and the forces of Adonaias.

It has been many years since that day, the day Hamilton Dinger wishes to forget, along with the ache in his heart. But his desire to let go of the past is usurped when the future comes barreling into his apartment in the form of two young Starlight defenders, Lucas and Lyra, calling for a new mission for the retired Wingdinger. More than reluctantly, Hamilton heads home to Apollo City as Dante Salyards, now a rogue agent from SWORD, seeks his help in dismantling a new administration of evil in Apollo City.

For the past several weeks since Draco's return, Hamilton Dinger has been worried. As he watches over Raiya and Apollo City, he can't help but feel like he has too much to worry about. When Aleia reaches out to him, Hamilton finds that he must be able to handle the truth, no matter how inconvenient and demanding it is. Can he find comfort in Adonaias' own struggle with anxiety and fear?

After discovering the truth of Starry Knight's identity and the truth of how he felt about her, Hamilton Dinger is facing his biggest challenge yet: taking her out on a "normal" date, to a normal high school football game, with normal people.

Hamilton Dinger is not having a good summer. Since his battle with Orpheus and Starry Knight, he has felt distracted. Not with important things, or anything, really. Just work and video games and sleeping in during the summer. When Elysian forces him out of the house, Hamilton heads out for Rachel's, only to find out it is closed for her wedding. Hamilton is relieved, and then concerned, as a new demon gets ready to attack the ceremony. Can he save Rachel's big day, without letting his anger toward Starry Knight get in the way?

Christmas is a time for miracles, but miracles have always bothered Hamilton Dinger. This Christmas Eve, he has only two reasons to be cheerful: Rachel's Cafe is open late, and he has a special present for Gwen Kessler. So even if he has to sit through a session of Grandpa Odd's ramblings, he knows he'll have some holiday mocha and a chance at finally telling Gwen how he feels about her.

Hamilton Dinger has never gotten along well with Starry Knight. Only Starry Knight knows the real reason, and the real danger, when it comes to working alongside him. When a new demon monster takes over the phone lines of the city, Starry Knight races off to help her co-defender. As they fight together under the moonlight, Starry Knight faces a new test of her power, and a new test of her heart. This is a short story set between book two and book three of the Starlight Chronicles.
