A Dotsy Lamb Travel Mystery

Dotsy Lamb, history professor and recently divorced empty nester, is ready for culinary delights and sun-drenched piazzas on her group tour of Italy - but murder wasn't part of the package. Snide Meg Bauer was loathed by everyone, but even an obnoxious tourist deserves justice after being stabbed to death with a souvenir knife. When a local gypsy is arrested, Dotsy believes he's an innocent scapegoat. Suspecting that the killer lurks among them, she discovers that within the twenty-odd mix of tourists and guides, there are a few dark secrets.

American medieval history professor Dotsy Lamb and her best friend, Lettie Osgood, are working an archaeological dig in the Scottish Highlands on the grounds of Dunlaggan Castle when murder strikes. The victim is genial, well-liked graduate student Froggy Quale, the on-site pollen and spore expert. His roommate, the dig's media man, is the prime suspect, but Dotsy, quite fond of both boys, is convinced otherwise.

George Gaskill, a car salesman from Indiana, goes missing from the stern deck of the Aegean Queen, leaving only a pool of blood and a strange note behind. Ollie Osgood, the husband of Dotsy Lamb's best friend Lettie, is the last person to have seen him and one of three men who lost a bundle to George in a Texas Hold'em Poker game. Then the ship's photographer turns up murdered on the beautiful island of Mykonos.

When her son says he and his fiancee want to marry "in the shadow of the Matterhorn," Dotsy Lamb doesn't realize it means she'll be staying in the same remote Swiss chalet as her ex-husband and his new wife. But rather than spoil the young ones' plans, Dotsy puts on a brave face and heads to Switzerland, determined to make the best of it. Then the new wife turns up dead, and Dotsy is suspect number one. To make matters even worse, the police confiscate the passports of the house guests, so the members of the wedding party are now stuck living together.
