    Coming up in this episode in this week’s Mower County Government segment I’ll be visiting with Tom Trow, Lead Architect and Project Director for the Grand Meadow Chert Quarry. Tom will talk about the significance of the Chert Quarry and what you’ll see when you go out and walk the trails of the quarry.

    Then for this week’s City of Austin segment I’ll be talking with Jason Sehon, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry and Mark Bliese from the Austin Enhancement Group. The next High Water Music Series event takes place this week and we’ll talk about just what to expect when you attend.

    This episode marks an important moment for this podcast as I begin Season 2. So it is only fitting to start the new season right where this all began. I’ll be at Discover Austin visiting with Nancy Schnable and her special guest Steve Kime, a member of the Pillars of the Community Committee. We talk about the beginnings of the Pillars program, this year’s honorees, and how to nominate someone as a pillar of the community.

    Then I visit with Meredith Maloney, office manager and naturalist at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center. We learn all about Dammen Days and how you can head out to the Nature Center, have some fun and support the mentorship program at Nature Center.

    I will also visit with Steve Barrett at the Austin Area Foundation. We talk about change and how organizational chance can be a powerful tool to move forward.

In his book Kris talks about events that took place years before the disappearance of Jacob Wetterling that impacted his life and also the lives of multiple victims at the hands of the same abductor of Jacob.

    Then I visit the Austin Public Library to talk with Julie Clinefelter. We talk about the schedule for the rest of the Fourth of July holiday week and also about a documentary that explores libraries and how they are supported in their communities.
