Dietrich Bonhoeffer reminds us, “When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.” The cross is not an interruption to our journey, but the beginning of it. With this understanding, we can pray with confidence, knowing that even when doors are closed in front of us, the God of the Unexpected is already opening others for us to walk through.
