The Nutcracker in the Castle begins Nov. 21 at the Paine Art Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

For this month’s Wandering Wisconsin we’re heading to Stevens Point. There’s a sculpture park nestled in the woods there.

Interstate Park hugs the western border of the state with Minnesota. The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway runs through the park, creating stunning views of steep rock cliffs. The park’s unique features offer a variety of recreational opportunities all in one place.

The Driftless Region is full of meandering streams and rivers with cold, spring-fed water pushing through the rocks — making it one of the best trout-fishing habitats in the country. Trout season runs through Oct. 15 with some of the best fishing conditions in the fall making it an ideal time to plan a trip to the Driftless.

Yerkes Observatory near Lake Geneva is more than 125 years old, is the site of numerous scientific discoveries, is home the world's largest refracting telescope and has been visited by the likes of Edwin Hubble, Carl Sagan and Albert Einstein.
