  • The Faithful Good Shepherd - Psalm 23
    Apr 23 2025

The 23rd Psalm is considered extraordinarily beautiful and important because it profoundly illustrates the intimate and loving relationship between the Lord and His people, using the metaphor of a shepherd caring for his sheep. It reveals God's constant provision, protection, guidance, and enduring presence throughout all of life's circumstances, offering comfort and hope.

Like a shepherd who knows, protects, guides, and provides for his flock, God offers us security, provision for our needs (both material and spiritual), direction on the right paths, comfort in difficult times (even "the valley of the shadow of death"), and a sense of constant companionship and support.

Despite the complexities and difficulties of the 21st century, including economic instability, global unrest, and moral challenges, the image of the Good Shepherd provides unwavering reassurance. It reminds us that even amidst chaos and uncertainty, God remains a constant, loving, and powerful guide who will lead and protect those who trust in Him, offering peace and direction through His Word and Spirit.

So, let's dive in and talk about our Faithful Good Shepherd.

  • Palm Sunday: A Day To Remember
    Apr 9 2025

Palm Sunday is a day to remember. It is the day the Church celebrates Jesus being acknowledged as the Messiah, riding on a donkey into the city of Jerusalem. Crowds laid down palm branches and cloaks in his path signifying honor and royalty. It marks the beginning of what Christians call "Holy Week".

What's amazing is that on Palm Sunday, the people were crying "Hosanna, Hosanna" which means "Blessed is He who is to come and comes in the name of the Lord God!". But the following week they were shouting "Crucify Him".

Palm Sunday and Holy Week highlight Jesus' humility, his willingness to endure immense suffering and ultimately sacrifice himself on the cross to atone for the sins of humanity, and his glorious resurrection which signifies victory over sin and death.

Some frequently asked questions about Palm Sunday are:

    1. Why is Palm Sunday a significant day for Christians?

    2. Why did Jesus choose to ride a donkey into Jerusalem?

    3. What is the meaning behind the use of palm branches on Palm Sunday?

In this episode, we address these questions as well as share the central message about God's relationship with humanity, conveyed through these reflections on Palm Sunday and Holy Week.

  • 1 John - Back To Basic Christianity
    Mar 31 2025

"God is Light" and "God is Love".

As Light, there is no darkness in Him. As Love, God demonstrates pure and eternal love through Jesus Christ. This nature of God has implications for how believers should live, urging them to walk in the light and love one another.

A primary purpose of 1 John is to assure believers of their confidence and assurance in the Light of God,and their fellowship with Him. John emphasizes that he writes these things so that believers "may know that you have eternal life." Not to just think or hope, but to "know", without a shadow of doubt.

He also aims to help believers deepen their faith and understanding, particularly regarding the nature of God as light and love, and the importance of walking in that light and love.

Listen as we unpack 1 John, Back to Basic Christianity.

  • Psalm 2 – Submission To God’s Sovereign Rule & Authority
    Mar 26 2025

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Psalm 2 is a Messianic prophecy that foretells Jesus Christ's coronation and sovereign authority. It emphasizes the importance of submitting to God's rule, highlighting His ultimate power and the futility of opposing Him.

God is sovereign over all creation. Trusting and obeying Him is essential for a secure spiritual life. His Word is the foundation for our faith and we should live in reverence and humility before Him.

He possesses ultimate, unlimited power and authority, ruling over all creation and events, with nothing able to restrict His will or purpose.

He is the ultimate ruler and source of all power and authority, both in heaven and on earth. He has complete control over all things.

Nothing occurs without His permission or according to His plan. His power is not limited or constrained by any other force or being, and He can do whatever He chooses.

Everything happens according to His wise and loving plan, even when events seem chaotic or difficult. He is not a passive observer of the world, but rather He is actively involved in all things, working out His purposes through His creation.

Understanding God's sovereignty can lead to a sense of trust and peace, knowing that even in difficult times, God is in control and working for good.

Listen as we discuss Submission to God's Sovereign Rule & Authority.

  • Galatians - Justification By Faith
    Mar 12 2025

In this episode we examine the Book of Galatians and Justification By Faith. The Apostle Paul penned this letter to the churches in this region, Galatia, and it is still relevant to the church today. It has caused a lot of debate over the centuries, as to how are we made right with God.

Justification By Faith is the belief that individuals are made right with God not through their own efforts or obedience to the Jewish law, but through their faith in Jesus Christ.

Christ fulfilled the law, so that believers are saved through their faith in Him. Salvation is a gift from God, not earned through adherence to legalistic practices.

Listen as we take this deep dive into the book of Galatians.
