Whether you have given your life to the Lord recently OR you gave your life to the Lord when you were younger and walked away from God OR you have been faithfully serving God for a while, this episode is for you!

Going all in with Jesus is super important, not just to me, but to God!

John 1:12, when you received Jesus as your Lord, you became a child of God, a daughter of the Most High King. God thinks of you as His daughter, and He’s committed to being a good Father to you.

Luke 10:20, God actually wrote your name in heaven. Many times, we can feel like we’ve been overlooked, but God knows you! Your name is known in heaven. You are known by the Creator of the universe!

2 Corinthians 5:17, when you got saved, you became a new creation! From the inside, your heart and your spirit have been made known to God. You have been forgiven.

You have a plan that you were created for that you were created to fulfill on this earth. You were not just created to exist!

Ephesians 2:10, while you are God’s special creation, you were also created for good works.

Jeremiah 29:11, God’s plans for you are good and not evil. You don’t have to spend the rest of your life trying to figure life out.

    Next Steps:

    1. Water Baptism- after you have made Jesus Lord, this is a way to show publicly what God has already done for you on the inside of you.

    2. 6 Steps to Discipleship- apply these immediately, but don’t expect perfection

    • Spend time in the Bible daily.
    • Spend time in prayer daily.
    • Get connected in a good Bible-based church, a church that teaches the Word of God and is full of life, that emphasizes a relationship with Jesus Christ.
    • When you mess up, run to God! Make that your first response. He is still your answer.
    • Do life with others who are following Jesus.
    • Tell others what God has done in your life.

The goal of these steps isn’t perfection, but growth with God. When you receive Jesus, God Almighty now lives inside of you!

    Apr 14 2025

Growing up, I believed so many lies from the enemy. Lies that I was a nobody. That I was worthless. That I was unlovable. That nobody cared about me. I was a reject. I hated everything about myself. I absolutely hated being alone, because that’s when all of these thoughts would come at me the strongest.

When I was 17 and gave my life to Jesus, I wish I could say that all of those thoughts went away, but they didn’t. I still struggled a lot.

I remember thinking as a new Christian that I was broken beyond repair. I used to ask myself, “Why am I like this?” Why can’t I make friends… I don’t just mean those people you say hi to here and there, but those close friends who are there for you no matter what. I don’t want to be alone anymore. Why can’t I be different? What’s wrong with me?”

I’m just thankful that at this point in my life, I was crying out to God as I was asking these questions. My heart-cry at this time was, “God change me. Show me what I need to do and I will do it!”

What I didn’t realize back then was after giving my life to Jesus, I had the power on the inside of me to watch those dead areas of my life come to life. I had the power on the inside of me to heal those broken places. I had the power on the inside of me to get rid of the loneliness.

That power is the resurrection power that Jesus gave to us after He died on the cross and rose again from the grave.

How? How does the resurrection power work in our lives? Listen to what Abraham did in Romans 4.

Romans 4:17-21-“As it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, “So shall your offspring be.”

He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness[

    Apr 7 2025

If nobody has told you lately…and even if they have, I want you to know that you are valuable.

You are loved by God. He has a purpose and a plan for your life that are so much greater than you can even imagine.

You are not here by mistake. You are not a mistake.

Jesus loves you! He values your life so much that He was willing to give up His own life so that He could have a relationship with you!

This week on the UncommonTEEN Podcast, we are going to talk about the importance of what Jesus did for us on the cross, how it shows His great love for you and how much He values you, and what His dying on the cross actually did for us and for others!

    1. Sin has a price tag.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages (or the payment) of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

    2. Someone must pay the price for that sin, and it should have been us since we are the ones who mess up. However, someone else paid the price…His name is Jesus.

Romans 5:8-But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

    3. Jesus paid the price so we could go free.

Romans 3:23-24 says, “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

    4. And because of what Jesus did, you no longer have to pay the price for sin.

Think about it this way, If you were at a restaurant with your family and your parents paid the bill for your food, would you still go up and try to pay the bill again before you leave? Of course not, the bill has already been paid.

Jesus has already paid it and all you need to do is receive Him!

    Mar 31 2025

“I don’t care. I just don’t care. It’s not that I don’t want to care. I just lack any motivation. When it comes to reading the Bible, I want to read it, but I just don’t. I can’t even tell you the last time I opened my Bible on my own if I have ever read it on my own. When it comes to praying, I tend to forget. I just don’t think about it. When it comes to church, I like hanging around my friends. I’d rather talk to them than listen to the pastor.”

This is a hypothetical conversation but working with teens for over the past 25 years, this is something I hear and see more often than not.

There are teens who I know who have gone to church their whole lives, their parents are in ministry and care nothing about God. It isn’t that they are pushing back against God, they just don’t care. They serve doing things that seem fun, but when asked if they will help in other areas, they roll their eyes and walk away. They have lost their desire to share the love of Jesus with others.

The definition of spiritual apathy is a lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern about your relationship with God. You couldn’t care less.

The definition of complacency is being satisfied with where you currently are in your relationship with God. You don’t desire to grow, but you’re just okay. I

As Christians, we all have to fight apathy and complacency from time to time. I would be lying if I said that I never had to fight it. There are times when other things get my attention, and I have to fight those feelings.

Here’s how to overcome spiritual apathy and complacency.

    1. Change your perspective. Reading your Bible, praying, going to church, serving…those aren’t something that you have to do…they are something that we get to do.
    2. Push past your feelings. Ask God to help you. Ask Him to give you a desire to want to serve Him.
    3. Start small. First 15.
    4. Find a friend or a youth leader who will hold you accountable.
    5. Become part of something bigger than yourself!

This week, we’re going to talk about the faith of Caleb and Joshua. Joshua and Caleb, when they, along with 10 other spies were faced with a big challenge, they were the only two that chose to put their faith in God instead of bowing down and giving into their circumstances.

Ladies, we have a choice when it comes to facing big challenges. Are we going to complain about our problems, give up all hope, and let the enemy steal our victory or are we going to put our trust in God and not move on the promises He has given us?

Just like with Joshua and Caleb, God has a plan for your life of good and not of evil to give you a future and a hope…Jeremiah 29:11. You can bank your life on the promises in God’s Word and watch Him come through for you every time.

This passage from Joshua 1 gives us the steps to overcome any challenges in our lives.

    1. Know that God is for you. He is not against you! Joshua 1:5 says, “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses so I will be with you, I will not leave you or forsake you (or abandon you).”
    2. Don’t let anyone or any circumstances steal God’s Promises from you. The beginning of Joshua 1:5 says, “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life.” Don’t let anyone or anything move you off of the promises of God!
    3. Stand on the Word of God, do what it says, and do not move off of it until you see what you’re believing for! Joshua 1:8- This book of the Law (God’s Word) shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.
    4. When fear, doubt or discouragement creep in, kick it out! Joshua 1:9- Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be discouraged, for the Lord Your God is with you wherever you go.”
    5. See God come through for you! Joshua 1:8- This book of the Law (God’s Word) shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For

Can God Really Use Me? It’s time to get rid of excuses!

So many times, we disqualify ourselves from being used by God, saying things like, “God could never use me. I’m a mess up. I don’t even have friends. I’m afraid to talk to people. Or whatever other excuse we come up with.

God doesn’t want to use you because you’re perfect and have everything together. He wants to use you because you are available and because you know that the only way you can win is with God.

Isaiah 43:1-5- Last part: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. 4 Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. 5 Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you. 6

    1. God Knows You By Name (Isaiah 43:1)

    2. God Is Our Protector, You don’t need to Fear (Isaiah 43:2)

    3. God Has a Purpose for You (Isaiah 43:5-7)

    4. You can trust God!

  • 165. Why Can I Not See God Move in My Life?
    Mar 10 2025

Share with us what you think about UncommonTEEN! I do read your fanmail, but can't message you back! Chat with me at UncommonTEEN.com!

Ladies, we have a big God and He wants to do big things in your life!

Isaiah 26:3 says that God will keep us in perfect peace when we keep our minds focused on Him because we trust in Him.

You may be walking through a challenging time right now. You may be walking through a hard diagnosis right now. You may be walking through a friendship that failed. No matter what you are going through, there is hope. Keep your eyes on God and watch what He does for you!

It only took a small amount of faith to change the whole trajectory of your life when you gave your life to Jesus. With a small amount of faith, the biggest miracle was performed. You went from darkness to light. From being a slave to sin to being a daughter of the most High King. You were saved from hell and now get to live forever with Jesus.

If, with just a little bit of faith, God was able to perform the greatest miracle ever, why does it seem like we need to have a huge amount of faith to receive other miracles, such as healing or even making great friends?

Maybe you have heard this saying before, or maybe you have said it yourself…I sure hope not! But if you have, please know that it is not in any way encouraging or Biblical! But the saying is, “Well, you didn’t pray hard enough.” Or “I guess you didn’t have enough faith.”

The problem isn’t the amount of faith that we have. Jesus even told us that if we had faith the size of a mustard seed, we could move mountains. The problem is that we need to learn how to release the faith that we do have.

In Matthew 17:14-21, the disciples tried to cast demons out of a boy like they had done many times before, but this time, they couldn’t understand why they weren’t able to do it. In verse 20, Jesus doesn’t tell them that they needed more faith. He actually says to them that it was because of their unbelief.

So, the problem wasn’t more faith, it was that they needed to kick doubt out. Unbelief will override faith.
